Resilience is evolving. No longer a static mindset or decision to bounce back after difficulty. Science says Resilience has changed in this era - it is a dynamic process. Kids and coaches need education, tools and daily practice to nurture ways of becoming more resilient. We support coaches, young athletes and all kids in getting up to date, and we have tools in our new Resilience program. Follow the conversation and Lisa's travels.

We are excited to have Lisa Mitzel (Zen Tiger Mind) visiting Active Attitude on the 29th July to run a "Resilience Workshop."

🌈 Be proactive and teach kids to be in tune with their breath and body.

🌈 Practice with kids - say INHALE, and trace the red rainbow line to the right. Say EXHALE and trace the orange line to the left.

🌈 Teach kids to pay attention and feel their body expand…and contract.

🌈 As their minds focus on the breath they start to feel more safe and in control. They will feel their in power grow stronger.

🌈 This is a great precursor to doing an activity that takes a lot of concentration.

🌈 Prepare your kids and athletes to be mentally focused, at ease, and to perform great. Improve youth mental health!

TO SHINE YOUR LIGHT, you stretch and reach. As you work, strive, and push yourself, as you slip and fall and pick up yourself - YOUR MIND AND SPIRIT may hurt…and suffer.

That’s part of being human.

Be a light in slowing down. Take a pause, or surely your mental health will decline. To reach your goals, to care for others, your mental health is very important.

Nurture, nurture, nurture yourself — and you
WILL BE RESILIENT.

Practice self-compassion - hold yourself in the present moment, right now, know that everyone experiences emotions, hard emotions. Breathe in and out deeply, and connect to peace within yourself through loving kindness.

💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
At Zen Tiger Mind, we celebrate the choice to put yourself first. The decision to relax and feel good.

💚 Take time to Love yourself, be kind to yourself.

💚 When you’re not feeling okay, or you’re really down, know that it’s temporary. Sit with it and say, “I feel this, it’s hard, but this will pass.”

💚 Ask for help. People may seem busy but someone cares for you. And they will slow down to help you. You matter.

💚 Mental Health means to feel clear in your mind, follow your pursuits, be responsible, care for yourself, be patient during a difficult time, trust that good things will come.

The 4th Mindset in Focused and On Fire:
MINDFULNESS can be in harmony with gratitude and self awareness.
It’s a daily practice!
➡️ Each morning, be mindful of your breath filling your body with air.
➡️ say “Thank you for the air I breathe. Thank you for breathing in and out. I am alive!”
➡️ Be mindful of each step you take. “I have legs and feet! I am moving, I can walk! I feel the ground and earth below me.”
➡️ Greet yourself in the mirror. “Hello you, hello to me! I have a face, eyes, nose, ears, mouth, teeth! I am a beautiful creature, a vibrant human being. I get to have this day to learn, grow, nurture myself and others.”
➡️ Hug yourself, close your eyes and love yourself. You have a beating heart.
➡️ Welcome each person you meet with kindness, bless them from your heart.
➡️ Be mindful of the energy in your thoughts and in your body. Your energy is a gift to the world. Share your positive energy with others! It will come back to you!

🏆 Mindfulness in sports is taking moments to slow down and listen to your thoughts.
🤩Observe what is happening in your body, notice what’s happening in your mind. Always check in with yourself.
🏆Don’t judge each turn you take. Notice what needs fixing, smile, and try again. You can do it. Be smart and healthy. You are in charge of yourself!

❤️For adults, be mindful of yourself, your desires, your emotions, your tension.
💥Be mindful of young athletes, how they look to you for safety and security. Keep teaching kids that their voice matters and that you want to listen.
❤️Take turns talking. Take turns listening. Be mindful of each other!
