Congratulations to DBHDS Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shariff Tanious, former Attending Psychiatrist at Catawba Hospital, on being elected President of the Psychiatric Society of Virginia!

This is a tremendous honor and a reflection of the respect Dr. Tanious has earned from colleagues across the Commonwealth through his leadership, professionalism, and dedication to mental health care.

Dr. Tanious will follow outgoing President, Dr. Karl Northwall, current Chief Medical Officer of Catawba Hospital. Thank you, Dr. Northwall, for your service in this role, and congratulations to Dr. Tanious on this exciting next chapter!
