Paws & Pause: Taking a Breather with Maslow! 🐾

Woof! Sometimes the world feels a little too loud, even for a professional good boy like me. My ears perk up, my heart starts pitter-pattering like rain on a tin roof, and I feel that “fight or flight” feeling… kind of like when I see a squirrel but I’m stuck on my leash.

When my humans feel that way, I’m right there to help. But did you know I use my own nose to stay calm, too? It’s all about the 4-5-7 technique. It’s like a secret “reset” button for your brain!

Let’s do it together:
• Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds... (Imagine you’re sniffing my favorite bag of treats!)
• Hold that breath for 5 seconds... (Just stay still, like you’re waiting for a ‘stay’ command.)
• Whoosh it out through your mouth for 7 seconds... (Give it a long, slow sigh, just like I do when I finally flop onto my rug.)

🐾 Maslow’s Daily Dig: Find Your Pack
Humans, put down the glowing rectangles for a second (after you watch me of course!) 🐕

I’ve learned that life is a lot like a game of tug-of-war: it’s impossible to play alone! My tip for today is to prioritize connection. You weren’t meant to carry your ‘heavy’ stuff solo.

Whether it’s a coffee date, a phone call, or just a long walk with a friend, go find your pack. Real connection is the ultimate treat—it makes the ‘scary vacuums’ of life feel a lot less loud.

Go fetch some quality time today!

Stay paws-itive,
Maslow 🦴

Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future ✊🏾

As we celebrate Black History Month, we take this time to honor the incredible legacies, resilience, and brilliance of Black individuals who have shaped our world. This month isn’t just about looking back at the milestones of the past; it’s about recognizing the living history being made every single day.

From the pioneers who fought for civil rights to the modern-day innovators in tech, art, and science, we celebrate the profound impact of Black culture on every facet of our lives.

💡 Why We Celebrate

• Reflection: Acknowledging the struggles and triumphs that have paved the way for progress.

• Education: Discovering the stories and voices that are often left out of the history books.

• Action: Committing to a future of equity, inclusion, and sustained support for Black communities.

🌟 How to Engage This Month

1. Support Black-Owned: Whether it’s a local cafe, an online boutique, or a tech startup, put your dollars where your values are.

2. Keep Learning: Dive into books, documentaries, and podcasts that center Black narratives.

3. Elevate Voices: Share the work of Black creators, activists, and thinkers within your own circles. Let’s carry the spirit of this month forward all year long.

Happy Black History Month! 🖤✨

🔥 Avoiding the “Burn” Before the Out

We’ve all been there: the endless “hustle,” the growing pile of notifications, and that feeling that your internal battery has been at 1% for a week. Burnout isn’t a badge of honor; it’s a signal that your system needs a reboot.

Preventing burnout isn’t about one giant vacation—it’s about the small, daily choices that protect your peace.

🛑 Ways to Reclaim Your Energy

• The “Hard Stop”: Set a non-negotiable time when work ends. Once the clock hits that hour, close the tabs and silence the pings. Your brain needs time to transition from “output” to “existence.”

• Micro-Rest: You don’t need an hour-long meditation to reset. Try the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. It’s a tiny circuit breaker for your stress.

• Audit Your “Yes”: Every time you say yes to a new task, you are saying no to your own rest. Practice the “Let me check my capacity and get back to you” response.
