The women in attendance at the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women Black in Business DMV Roundtable have accomplished great things in business and executive leadership.

Myself and 9 other OMBW Alumna had the esteemed honor of spending time with our Maryland U.S. Senator, Angela Alsobrooks, Asahi Pompey, Global Head of Corporate Engagement at Goldman Sachs, and Jessica Taylor, National Director of OMBW at Goldman Sachs, to discuss the current landscape of economic development and empowerment for small businesses especially those led by black women.

The opportunity to share our diverse perspectives and industry challenges was met with enthusiasm, encouragement and support.

To fellowship and connect with this amazing group of black women who exemplify excellence in the backdrop of the U.S. Capitol building, speaks volumes of the work we do to make an economic impact with our voices and value.

When your new client catches flights to catch these hands 🙌🏽!

One of my clients today flew all the way from the state of Texas to get a hug and healing hands at The Kneading Well. We are fam though fed through the Dr. G Next Level Ecosystem.

Tracy heard so much about my massages from folk she had to come and experience 90 minutes for herself. She missed my pop-up in the DFW last year so she made the trip to Bmore.

Thank you, Tracy, for making the trek to The Kneading Well. It was an honor to be of service to you.

How your client tells you she doesn’t want to talk this session without telling you she doesn’t want to talk this session 😂

My client was so happy that she remembered to bring her eye mask this session. I was so tickled by what it said when she put it on.

I take my clients lead when it comes to conversation during a session. If they want to talk, we talk. If they don’t, we don’t. Talking can be very therapeutic during a massage because it allows the client to decompress mentally while their body is decompressing physically. But silence is golden too because it allows one to go deeper within and quiet the mind.

There is not right or wrong. Sometimes I talk my clients right to sleep😴. Massage Therapy at its best 😜

I am a firm believer that our health is our wealth. Massage therapy, bodywork and other complementary and alternative care practices are effective modalities that help individuals achieve optimal well-being.

I am excited to announce that I am participating provider with Optum Health. I am now accepting referrals for veterans enrolled in the VAs Community Care Network (CCN). I am also accepting clients enrolled in Kaiser Permanente’s and United Healthcare’s CAM Discount Programs. Enrollees are eligible to receive a 20% discount off services. …it actually does and these hands are very good listeners 🙌🏽

One of the main characters in this story is that pesky Levator Scapulae. It lives from the top of the neck at the base of the skull and travels down to the inner top border of the scapula.

Levator scapulae’s primary job is to elevate the scapula (shoulder blade) for movements like shrugging the shoulders. You get the name now 😉. It also acts with other muscle movers around it to rotate the shoulder forward and downward, laterally flex the neck to the same side and extend the neck backward.

It can be one real pain in the neck and indeed for this client it was. With the right techniques, tools and topicals, levator scapulae and its muscular friends on the left side of this picture were helped to chillax a bit. You can visibly see the restored space between the base of the neck and the shoulder joint. You can see how the shoulder is relaxed away from the ears. And you see how the shoulder is less protracted and more depressed which decreases the strain and pull of the other back muscles. This all leads to better alignment in the spine.
