Technical Sergeant Martin Geddes Bacon, Jr. was "Killed In Action" when his B-17 was hit by fire by enemy aircraft and crashed in France during the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
TSgt Bacon will be arriving at BWI on Friday, September 12th. On the tarmac to welcome their uncle home are his nephews and their family and friends. Joining the family is the military es**rt, members of the BWI Airport family, the knights of Columbus, and the Maryland Patriot Guard Riders.
Honors will be conducted as the Dignified Transfer occurs from the plane to the hearse at the airport.
After processing from the airport to the funeral home, there will be a brief period for the public to pay respects at the funeral home Friday, September 12 starting approximately around 6PM, depending on any flight delays.
Burial will full honors will take place 2PM, Tuesday, September 16 at Baltimore National Cemetery, 5501 Frederick Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228.
