Cedar fever is flaring up across the south central United States, and many people are feeling it right now. High levels of mountain cedar pollen are spreading across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and parts of Louisiana as warm, dry, and windy conditions help pollen travel long distances.

Mountain cedar, also known as Ashe juniper, releases massive amounts of pollen during late winter and early spring. Unlike many spring allergies, cedar pollen grains are small and easily inhaled, which can make symptoms feel more intense. Common symptoms include sneezing, congestion, itchy or watery eyes, sinus pressure, fatigue, and sore throat. Fever like symptoms can occur, which is why it is often called cedar fever, but it is not caused by a virus.

Pollen levels can spike quickly after warm days, strong winds, or cold fronts that stir the air. Rain can temporarily reduce pollen, but dry conditions allow it to rebound fast. People who do not normally suffer from allergies can still be affected during strong outbreaks.

If you are sensitive to cedar pollen, limiting outdoor exposure on high pollen days, keeping windows closed, using air filters indoors, and showering after being outside can help reduce symptoms. Allergy medications may also provide relief, but symptoms can persist as long as pollen levels remain high.

This outbreak is expected to continue as long as cedar trees remain active, especially across central and eastern Texas and surrounding areas.

This is the Chinese Year of the FireHorse. 🔥 🐴 🔥

2025 was the year of the Snake 🐍 Meaning and shedding of old patterns and things that no longer serve.

🐴 HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🐎🔥 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse (火马年) or Red Horse Year (赤马年 ) in the Chinese Zodiac, a rare occurrence that happens only once every 60 years.

Double Fire: In Chinese metaphysics, the Horse belongs to the Fire (火) group, so 2026 adds double strength to the year’s governing element, leading to a "Yang Fire" year (丙午) with massive transformative momentum.

What seems like chaos shifts into greater coherence, as old cultural patterns, habits and limited thinking breaks apart and new creative forces gain power.

Key Symbolism:
The combination of the Horse sign and the Fire element creates an exceptionally high-energy year of dynamic change. The Horse naturally symbolizes vitality and independence, while the Fire element adds intensity and drive.
