Emergency Pop-Up Food Pantry – This Thursday

Spiral Living Center, in partnership with the Josephine County Food Bank and Oregon Food Bank, will host an Emergency Pop-Up Food Pantry this Thursday in Cave Junction.

This is a shopping-style pantry experience where individuals and families can select from healthy perishable and non-perishable foods in a safe environment.

❤️ A message to our Illinois Valley community

We know many people in our community are feeling the impact of the recent closure of Bridgeview Community Food Pantry. Bridgeview served many families in the Illinois Valley, and we recognize how important that resource was.

We want everyone to know that there are still several places in the Illinois Valley where you can access food, and our community partners are working together to help make sure no one goes without. Our partners are currently working on having another evening pantry each week, but the details still need to be ironed out. We will let you all know the details as soon as we can.

Please take a look at the updated Illinois Valley Pantry List attached to this post for current locations, days, and times for food distribution in our community.

Our valley has always shown up for one another in times of change. We’re grateful for the many organizations, volunteers, and partners helping ensure that food resources remain available to our community.

Most ODHS offices and phone lines will be closed today, Monday, Feb. 16, 2026 in honor of Presidents Day. Here are some important things to know:

- You can still report abuse, neglect and maltreatment to the Oregon SafeLine (855-503-7233) 24/7. The phone line will remain open during the holiday.

- While the ONE Customer Service Center (800-699-9075) will not be open to take calls, there are still other ways to manage your benefits, including the free ONE Mobile App and online at benefits.oregon.gov

- Offices will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026.

🏠 Did you know IVFC offers Health-Related Social Needs (HRSN) services through AllCare?

Illinois Valley Family Coalition provides HRSN services to help eligible community members stay safe, healthy, and stable. These services address needs like housing safety, food access, heating and cooling, and help navigating benefits — and they are available to both homeowners and renters.

✅ To qualify for HRSN services, you must:

✔️ Have Oregon Health Plan (OHP)
✔️ Have at least one qualifying medical or health-related condition
✔️ Be in an HRSN Covered Population

💼 VITA Free Tax Prep Assistance at IVFC! 💼

Starting February 4th, VITA-certified preparers will be available at the Illinois Valley Family Coalition to help qualifying individuals with their taxes. For over 40 years, Josephine County volunteer tax preparers have been providing personal one-on-one assistance to low- and moderate-income taxpayers, helping them complete both federal and state returns- including electronic filing.
