🚨 Case Study Friday 🚨

One of the biggest benefits of being part of a Direct Primary Care practice is the ability to get answers quickly and affordably — without the ER in this case.

Friday, a 57-year-old gentleman came in with significant abdominal pain. After a careful exam and discussion, we were concerned about diverticulitis, though appendicitis was also on our radar.

📅 It’s Friday afternoon — typically a tough time to get advanced imaging without sending someone to the ER.

But not here. Thanks to our new in-house CT scanner, we were able to perform a CT with contrast right away.
✅ The scan confirmed diverticulitis — no appendicitis, no abscess, no perforation.
✅ We reviewed the images with our radiologist.
✅ Prescribed affordable antibiotics.
✅ The patient should feel much better by Saturday and still make it to his family event.

💡 Total cost? Around $450.
⏳ Time saved? Hours.
💵 Costs avoided? Likely $6,000–$8,000 in ER charges.

📣 Our offices in Spartanburg (Reidville Road and Drayton Mills) as well as our Greenville office plan to be open tomorrow, Monday!

👉👉We will work at a limited capacity due to a lack of internet connectivity. We will focus on acute care visits mostly and those in need of urgent care. The phones will likely not be live due to the internet outage but feel free to call the office and leave messages as we should be able to check messages intermittently remotely. Stay safe everyone!
