Be the 1 in 15 ๐Ÿ’šโ˜•

Mental health support starts with everyday people โ€” friends, coworkers, neighbors, and community members who know how to recognize when someone may be struggling and how to help.

This month, local businesses across our community helped spread awareness by placing Mental Health Awareness stickers on cups, food items, and more as we continue working toward our goal of reaching 10,000 Mental Health First Aiders in our community.

Because you never know who may need support โ€” and one trained person can make a difference in the lives of those around them.

Don't miss your checkup, test, or scan. Our Volunteer Drivers can lend a hand! ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿš™

According to the National Institute on Aging, one of the most important ways to help support and promote senior health is to stay connected to healthcare providers.

The GOMadison Volunteer transportation program allows 60+, non-Medicaid eligible Madison County residents to request rides with volunteer drivers to non-emergency medical appointments, at no cost to them.๐Ÿฅผ๐Ÿ’‰๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿฉป๐Ÿ’Š

Congratulations to the students at DeRuyter who completed Teen Mental Health First Aid training! By learning how to recognize signs of mental health challenges and connect peers to support, these students are helping build a culture of compassion, understanding, and support.

We are inspired by the next generation of leaders working to make mental health matter.

Certain foods contain nutrients that help support brain health, mood, and overall wellness. Foods highlighted include pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, lentils, cashews, and spinach, which provide important nutrients linked to healthy brain function. ๐Ÿฅ—โœจ

Small changes can add up over time. Try adding a few nutrient-rich foods into your meals this week and take a step toward supporting both your body and mind!

In observance of Memorial Day, our office will be closed on Monday, May 25.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who served and sacrificed for our country.

This Memorial Day, we extend our gratitude to those who gave their lives in service and to the families who continue to carry their memory forward. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

During Teen Mental Health First Aid trainings, students learn a 5-step Action Plan. This framework teaches teens practical steps for recognizing when a friend may need help, starting supportive conversations, listening without judgment, helping connect them with a trusted adult, and understanding how their friendship can make a difference.

As part of the training, students create and present posters focused on each of the action steps.

Here are some of the thoughtful posters they made ๐Ÿ’š
