I don’t have the strength to make them eat healthy all the time.

We do our best. We cook from scratch, go out of our way to get grass-fed meats and raw milk, and limit refined sugar, GMO’s, and seed oils. I care a lot. But I can only care so much and control so much before I feel like a crazy person. I’m not going to have them skip birthday party treats, avoid the concessions, or opt out of Halloween candy.
I definitely lessen the amount of these things, but I need my sanity too. My kids are taught what is a nourishing food. As they get older, they’ll have to take ownership for their body and well-being.

I refuse to obsess about every little food choice.

We took our kids out for a fancy dinner and it was so fun. Usually mom and dad go alone, but this time we said yes to them going and they loved it.

We sat outside so they could people watch in downtown Fort Wayne. That puts the perfect cap on summer for us 🫶🏻

Would you eat leaves for 90 days to cure your colitis, reflux, migraines, or other chronic condition?
I would.

Now, what if instead of leaves you got to eat omelets, roasts, steak, burger salads, and other hearty proteins?

Could you do that for 90 days to free your body of inflammation and burden? What if you spent a lifetime acquiring your problems and could reverse them in 3-6 months?

I do believe it’s possible and I do believe eating carnivore / primal diets are one fantastic way to do it.

How come we dance around the idea of changing our food? We’re willing to go to a weightlifting class, get more sleep, wear blue blockers, try cold plunging and saunas, get a new prescription… but not address the one thing that can make or break your healing?

I get it. We love our foods, the habits around them, the social aspects, but we also love the unhealthy addictions, temporary mouth pleasure - over our health. Guys, extreme circumstances call for extreme solutions. I hardly meet a person who isn’t sick. This isn’t going away. It won’t get better on its own.

Think about making a real change. I’ll help you through it. I have been through it before - from sleeping 14 hours a day and wondering if I’d ever be a normal, productive person to thriving and loving life and having 3 healthy babies. Reach out, I’m here 🫶🏻

Sucks being aware, huh?

Once you start to see the connections between food and environment to our well-being, it’s just about impossible to unsee it. And it usually means one connection leads to another, sometimes creating some major inconveniences and major cognitive dissonance for people. I get it... it’s easier in some ways to remain ignorant about these connections to health.

But - it’s also very freeing. How else are you going to get relief from your ulcerative colitis, migraines, or anxiety? They don’t usually just disappear on their own. It often takes awareness, ownership, and action from the individual.

Listen, if you’re peering over the edge, just jump. You won’t regret peeling back the layers of your habits, discovering new discipline you never thought you had, knowledge you didn’t know was out there, and a vitality you cannot fake. The water’s fine over here, c’mon jump on in! I’ll greet you with a sparkling water with lime. You won’t even feel like you’re missing out on anything.

This is my back this morning.
I’ve had some lower back pain lately, so I headed to Krouse Chiro in Payne to get some light therapy.

Do you know what low-level light therapy is?
LLLT uses red or near-infrared light to stimulate cellular activity, promoting healing and reducing inflammation. Many see healing for their injuries, arthritis, and pain from using the therapy.

Have you used it?

We did it. We hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim after having it on the calendar for 2 years. My friend, Cassie, had this on her bucket list for about 20 years. I agreed to go with, having no idea what to expect. I didn’t realize it was over 20 miles and labeled a very difficult hike.
But we got it done… 21 miles in 2 days. And about 9 miles were all uphill on the way out of the canyon. I’m not going to say I crawled out of the canyon, but I was definitely going sloth-speed.

What’s this got to do with wellness?
I think another piece of wellness is pushing oneself, getting uncomfortable, and signing up for some suffering on occasion.
We can’t sit in our temperature- controlled environments, eat all the food we desire, and avoid pain and expect to experience vitality.

You gotta get uncomfortable for your own well-being.

There are two kinds of people when it comes to the phrase “everything in our world is toxic” -

One person says “well if everything is toxic, then why even bother trying to fight against it?”

And the other person says “if everything is toxic, I need to do my best to rid those things from my life”

Which one are you?
I get it, it’s easier to throw your hands up and just not address all the toxic products, cosmetics, food, and water.
It is overwhelming, after all. No doubt about that.

An approach of all or nothing and if I can’t have it 100% then I won’t do it at all, defeats people quickly.

You have to approach it with a hammer and chisel and celebrate each little chip of progress you make. If you do that for a year or two or three, you find your life and your home are much different and much less toxic than where you started. And it does indeed make a difference; don’t discount those small changes.

My girl had an awful ear ache this week that brought her to tears. I was praying I didn’t have to resort to antibiotics, as I try to reserve that for more intense medical situations. And because ear infections are often not caused by bacteria, antibiotics are often not effective. Not to mention, the microbial damage that is done from giving them.

So! I reached in my fridge and grabbed this garlic mullein olive oil that I got from in the fall. I got it just in case I ever needed it. And boy did it come in handy.

Why do we doubt that natural remedies will be effective? Or work quickly?
This ear oil did both for us! I gave this to her at noon on Monday while she was in tears and by 3:30 that afternoon she was out jumping on the trampoline with her sister. I couldn’t believe it. And she hasn’t complained of any ear pain since. I’m so thankful this didn’t result in a trip to the doc!

Moms have a lot of power right at home & natural remedies sometimes are more effective and faster acting than medical interventions!

Check out for her tinctures and salves she creates right from her own little organic herb farm.

*if an ear drum is ruptured, it’s not recommended to use this oil. This is just my personal experience, not medical advice for you.

I just made a batch. 5 left if anyone is interested 🤗
