This is today in Utah and at Engage!! It’s rad that our young adults got up to Brian Head for opening day.

There’s something cool about being part of the first crew on the mountain, not because the snow is perfect, but because they showed up, geared up, and did it together.

Feeling completely frozen by a cluttered space or a long to-do list? For young adults with ADHD, this "stuck" feeling is known as ADHD paralysis.

It’s more than procrastination; it's an overwhelming shutdown when the brain's executive functions are overloaded by choices, tasks, or information. This can show up as an inability to start tasks, make simple decisions, or think clearly, often leading to frustration and stress. But it’s possible to manage this.

Growth does not happen in a vacuum!! Power of Engage's Treatment Team

At Engage, our weekly treatment team meeting is where real clinical horsepower comes together. Therapists, our psychologist, case managers, our program director, and our nurse sit at the same table every week, reviewing each young adult’s progress with depth, coordination, and a high level of clinical skill. We may be a young adult transition community, but our approach is still rooted in strong clinical practice and a team with significant experience.

These meetings allow us to track progress in real time and design interventions that match exactly what a young adult needs at that point in their treatment. The strength of our team is our ability to respond quickly and intentionally, especially when a young adult is struggling or showing signs that they need more support. Because the team is aligned, we can move decisively and create a plan that meets the moment.

For young adults with complex clinical histories, this level of coordinated care matters. It keeps the work focused, sophisticated, and tailored to each young adult’s individualized needs. This is the clinical backbone of Engage and one of the reasons our team can support young adults through challenges with clarity and purpose.

Outdoor experiences give young men the space to open up. 🌲

Dr. Jack Hinman shares how hiking or walking side by side creates a natural rhythm that fosters vulnerability, connection, and trust.

Away from screens, neurodivergent emerging adults can lower their guard and strengthen relationships—key steps toward independence and wellbeing.

It doesn’t happen in a vacuum.

At Engage Young Adult Transitions, community is intentionally built and supported through clinical oversight and consistent presence. Our life coaches, case managers, and clinical team work side by side with young adults to create a space where accountability, care, and connection drive real growth.

Through daily interactions and shared experiences, the Engage team helps young adults take ownership of their environment and see themselves as agents of change, both personally and collectively. The structure and consistency provided by our staff shape a community that encourages responsibility, motivation, and authentic connection. In this setting, change is not only possible, it becomes contagious.

The van’s loaded, bikes are on, and the crew’s heading out for one of the last fall rides before ski season kicks in. Laura, our adventure coordinator, makes sure we’re taking full advantage of the mountain bike season and squeezing in every last fall ride before the snow flies.

Adventure at Engage isn’t just an activity. It’s a dedicated part of what we do every week. From mountain biking and climbing to skiing and hiking, our young adults are challenged to push limits, build confidence, and connect with each other in real, lasting ways. High-impact adventure is where movement meets mindset, and it’s central to the Engage experience.
