✨Community Member Spotlight: Angela✨

Angela has been coming to New Dawn for about 4-5 years. She had tried out other studios but decided to make her yoga home here with us at New Dawn.

"The location, and the amount of people who [instruct classes] here…I’ve always enjoyed the vibe here. Mostly, I love the people, the people are great."

Angela attends nearly the whole range of classes we offer here at New Dawn!

"One thing I love with the yin yoga - you know, people thing it’s just laying on your back. It’s so much more intense when you’re in such position for a long time, but then I do like the challenge of the different classes. I like the different things I learn from the different instructors. Martin’s Monday class, I wish I could hit that more often because it’s so wonderful and traditional. I haven’t worked up to doing the [Hot Yoga Sculpt] classes, maybe at some point. I love the mind-body connection."

"I had back surgery when I was 20. I had 2 ruptured discs in my lower back. It’s very important to me to stay healthy, to keep my weight in the manageable…but also dealing with stress and anxiety and other past stuff. The way that it can improve my mood and state of mind. I love you all. And I love how you guys are open and accepting to everyone. We really need that."

Join us for an afternoon meditation & sound bath on Sunday, October 12th at New Dawn Yoga!
Take this opportunity to connect with your inner self as we meditate with the soothing sounds of voice, Crystal and Tibetan Bowls , gong, Drum, chimes, and various other instruments. Allow the tones to calm your mind and body bringing you to a deep state of relaxation and peace.
Each session is organic and intuitively created. The ending time isn't set - but won't go longer than 2:15pm.
The room will be about 82 degrees. Cost is $30.

✨Community Member Spotlight: Erica✨

Erica has been coming to this space since before it became New Dawn, so well over 10 years! She said, “You’d think I’d be more flexible.” 😆

"I was in college at UNI and this guy came into this tanning salon where I worked. He said ‘There’s a new studio open, have you done it’ and I said ‘I don’t like being hot.’ For some reason I feel like he was a seed from the universe, like you need to do it…I started with yoga when I was 19 or 20, something like that. I just kind of immersed myself and I feel like that kind of helped me be able to shut my mind off. That was the first crutch of getting into the spiritual - taking care of my mind and my body.

I feel like the last year or 2, just because of my own healing, I saw the importance of community. I just said to [Anna] the other day, I just love what you’re doing here. Everybody, but I feel like you’ve made it very welcoming I think it resonated with more people, especially myself. I feel like it was also me too. I was more open to community and being vulnerable with myself. I feel like I was more welcoming with people, so you guys were probably always like that. It’s just my own projection."

Erica - what a thoughtful thing to say. We really do take in what we put out into the world - and I'm so glad your healing has helped you better find your community ☀

"I’m moving and I’m sad, I’m literally so pi**ed I have to find somewhere new. I feel like this past year I’ve really grown close to you guys as instructors.

"I’m bringing a friend that’s never been here on Sunday. I always say ‘have you tried hot yoga?’...I’m like, you guys just need to go to New Dawn. It’s a good workout, its meditation, it’s a sauna all in one. With you guys you have so much variety. Every instructor has something different. You can find something that works for you and there is no right or wrong.

"You guys always make me feel safe…everyone’s practice looks different…when I feel safe in this this space and with the instructors, that is huge for me."
