💜 Friends Program: Children’s Safety with Riverview Center 💜

This morning’s Friends Program featured Liz Bair from Riverview Center, sharing the organization’s vital work supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The presentation focused on children’s safety, and attendees walked away with practical takeaways—what to look for, how to encourage and support kids, and ways to help protect and empower them through education and prevention. Riverview Center provides free, trauma-informed services across 14 eastern Iowa counties.

🇺🇸❤️ Honoring Our Heroes at Western Home Communities ❤️🇺🇸

This Veterans Day, we were honored to celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country — including many who call Western Home Communities home.

On Friday, we hosted a Veterans Breakfast at Windridge, featuring a make-your-own omelet bar where veterans and their guests enjoyed custom-made omelets, conversation, and camaraderie. 🥚🧀🥓 It was a warm and meaningful way to start the day together.

At Windhaven and Stanard Family Assisted Living, we continued the celebration with special Veterans Day programs and treats. There were sweets, smiles, and heartfelt moments of gratitude as residents and staff came together to honor those who served. 🍪💙

To all of our veterans: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your strength. We are deeply grateful for you—today and every day.

It was Celebrity Bingo again today at Windridge! Fire Chief John Zolondek and Captain Tim Smith from the Police Division were guest callers this afternoon. We appreciate them coming to play and really appreciate both the police and the fire division keeping us safe!
