VIRTUAL POETRY SLAM
📖What is a virtual poetry slam? Indiviudals will be sharing poetry in a group (virtual) setting!
📖Who can join this event? Anyone over the age of 18 can join this poetry slam. Some poems may have mature content, so we ask no children please.
📖Who can submit/share poems? Again, anyone! We will open the floor to anyone to share their poems, but we ask that you sign up so we know approximately how many people we will have sharing!
📖Can I share anonymously? Yes! We will be using a virtual video platform where you are able to choose your name/title. You are welcome to use whatever title you feel most comfortable with, please use your full name when signing up though (only the host will see this)! When sharing you are encouraged to have your video on, but it’s not required!
📖What kind of poems should we share? Poetry is a unique art form that allows for creativity and imagination. Poems can hold any topic/length/format. ‼️This will be an opportunity for individuals to share their poetry, some poems may have topics of mental illness, grief, su***de, or other triggering topics. We will ask each particiapnt to notify the host of any potential triggers in their poems so the audience is aware. If you feel as though you will be triggered by a poem, you encouraged to silence the video, or walk away. THIS IS NOT A THERAPEUTIC SETTING.

💓All sessions will be held from 9:00am-10:30am on Saturday mornings- Group is led by Emily Burke, tLMHC
💓 Weekly attendance is strongly encouraged, but not required.

A great opportunity! 🤩🦷

Black Hawk County Public Health’s I-Smile Program is partnering with Kimball and Beecher Family Dentistry to provide free dental care to children in need on Friday, February 28. Appointments will be scheduled from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the 4015 Hurst Drive, Waterloo location.

The Give Kids a Smile in the Cedar Valley Day provides free dental services to children ages 1-13. Services include oral exams, x-rays, preventive care such as cleaning, fluoride, and sealants; as well as restorative care such as fillings. Children must be registered in advance, and parental permission received, to receive services.

This event is designed to meet the increasing need of families who are unable to find a dental provider who accepts Iowa Medicaid or will provide services when there is a lack of insurance or transportation resources.

To sign up for the Give Kids a Smile in the Cedar Valley Day, call Kimball and Beecher Family Dentistry at (319) 235-6287 to schedule an appointment. Appointment scheduling opens Monday, January 27. Appointments fill up quickly, so registering early is encouraged.

Exciting news at Reflections!

Allow us to reintroduce, Hannah Geving, as a certified drug and alcohol counselor and harm reduction specialist! Hannah will be seeing clients of all ages who are struggling with substance use issues, or who’s family members are struggling with abuse of substances.

We are excited to be offering another group therapy opportunity for teens! This group will cover mental health topics and techniques. The group is intended for individuals who are 14-18 years old. The group will run for 8 weeks starting March 21st-May 9th. This is an open group so members are welcome to join at their convenience. Located in Cedar Falls.
