Update on Carson from his Dad, Randy Kimball:

Hello friends and family…I wanted to give an update this morning on Carson. He has spent 9 days at Shepherd and all of that time up until this morning has been spent in ICU trying to get his oxygen high enough for him to breathe on his own.
I think this is a little like someone putting you on a treadmill to walk/jog and they don’t come back to check on you for a full day. Trying to breath on and off hiflow machines, breathing treatments, and several other breathing assist machines has finally helped Carson heal. Finally getting off alll this equipment was such a huge blessing and a rest from days and days of trying to breath.
This morning ours and so many of your prayers were answered as they took Carson off of Oxygen for the first time in 19 days and after several days this past week of horrible nights! At 11am he got to drive himself outside into the garden and took in some sunshine, so it’s been great. Hopefully, he will move to a normal rehab room tomorrow.
We love all of you so much and again we are so humbled by the outpouring of love and support for Carson and our family. God is good. Hug your family members. Call your grandparents and stay on the phone at least an hour. Be kind to somebody today and praise the only One who is the Maker and King of us all.

Update on Carson-

1. The procedure from yesterday seems to have us headed in the right direction. He has had in oxygen cut in half since surgery and his oxygen levels are holding. So keep praying, we need it to move just a little more, they are slowly turning it down, and he can be in regular room and pretty much go where he wants in the hospital. That will get him out and doing things.

2. They did come in and do some rehab this AM, he did good. They did about 4 hours which wore him out.But he was getting lunch when I talked to them.

3. If Oxygen does what it is doing, maybe no later than EOW, be out of the ICU, and in Private Room. That is when the real work starts on getting him to his goals.

I think better day for him because of steps with Oxygen, just hard for him to take the baby movements, he wants to have big moves. He will work his astrick off, when the time is right.

Update on Carson Kimball: (thank you Hugh Norton for the regular updates)

Quick Update on Carson.

1. He feed himself yesterday. Sheppard is not cutting him any slack, they said you want to eat, feed yourself. Not in a mean way, but a less get this done type way. And Carson said ok, and did it.

2. He sat in his chair yesterday for several hours. This is couple days in a row this is big so he can move around and get places at Sheppard when time to do the more intense stuff.

3. He did have a procedure this morning called a Bronchoscopy, to help clear his lung. This is progressing like they plan. Do not want to Jinx it, so please continue to pray for the lung to continue to improve. But it seems to be doing exactly what they hope for.

Like I said yesterday, we get past this little bump in the road of this lung and the work can start to get Carson fully working in Rehad. I know Carson is ready to get started on Rehab.

Update on CARSON

From HIS DAD Randy Kimball:

Hello all of our friends and family. I wanted to post an update for Carson.

He successfully left Grady Hospital on Tuesday and was moved to the Shepherd Spinal Rehabilitation Center. In closing out his chapter at Grady, I just want to say that they were absolutely world class from intake until we left. Most notably, his spinal surgeons acted extremely fast in making pivotal decisions that will likely impact Carson for the balance of his life. His nurses and caregivers went the extra mile to give him 24 hour care that was phenomenal. We are indebted to Grady and the ICU unit for the 10 days spent there getting Carson prepared for the real work of rehab. Also we are thankful for Grady allowing us to demolish the visitation rules in ICU pretty much everyday. I am also personally going to miss the authentic taco truck parked outside at 2am each night. 🙂

This journey seems to be like climbing Everest. We have not climbed anything like that, but getting to Shepard the first day was like having all your gear on, buckling in your boots, only to realize the view of the mountain ahead and shrinking somewhat at the thought of being at the beginning of such an arduous climb.

Carson has spent years working and training to see something great develop over time so he will do well. We have been a bit guarded in sharing his most hard days and he has had them. From today, the goal will be to get him out of bed that he has remained prostrate in for the past 10 days into a wheelchair for 2 hours. This activity will take the rest of the day in time, patience, energy, preparation and determination. Added to this, yesterday a small surgery was being considered for a partially collapsed lung on his left side. Breathing and moving today will be a day of exceptional effort. One hour, one day, one week is how we all get to the victories and goals we set.

Thank you all again for so so much love, support, giving, prayers, and personal sacrifices for Carson and our family. We are indebted and humbled by it all, and very grateful! May the Lord bless all of you involved in any way in this endeavor!!!!

Latest Update on Carson written by his father Randy Kimball:

Hello wonderful amazing community! We wanted to give an official update on Carson. He has been allowed to sit upright after 3 days of being on his back. He has felt good and is in good spirits. He has had “vibrations” in his legs and has done well with the Babinski test which shows a reflex to his toes. It’s one day at a time and he continues to show good improvement! We are a long ways from being out of the woods but it feels good!

I personally believe that when thousands of people are praying and asking God for the same thing, He in His immense and unconditional love for His children says “I HEAR YOU”. What father or mother who has children that call out to them in distress regardless if they have been good or bad, what loving parent turns their back to that. It does not happen! The Lords compassion is eternal and His mercy is endless. There are no conditions for His love, tenderness, and everlasting love. He hears the prayers of all of you. God is a mighty God, stand still and watch what he does for this boy!

I would like to share and echo the words of Carson’s Grandma:

Just got back from visiting Carson Kimball and family! There is so much love and support. Prayer is working! Keep praying! We are praying and believing that there is a miracle in the making.

Saturday at the prayer gathering, the Holy Spirit placed on my heart to also pray for those who do not know Jesus and for those who have lost their faith or strayed away from their faith. I believe that through this miracle, the lost will be found and many will come to know Jesus. ❤️ When I was talking to Randy Kimball at the hospital, he told me a story about another QB mom who reached out to them and through Carson’s story, she is learning who Jesus is!

Please join us in praying for Carson, and that those who are lost will come to know Jesus and that others will return. Life is hard and people can be unintentionally hurtful. Let’s put more effort into showing people the love of Jesus in all that we do. ❤️❤️❤️
