Our Story
Pride Family Medicine is a Nurse Practitioner owned and operated primary care practice which offers a broad range of services to the community. Our Nurse Practitioners, Raissa, Ashley and Tara, strive to provide superior healthcare and wellness with the support of our collaborative physician, Michael Martin MD.
Pride Family Medicine was inspired by Nurse Practitioner, Robert “Francis” Mijares, the late owner and founder of Zest Family Practice. He was a pioneer in Advanced Practice Nursing and an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. He grew a large following in his clinic and was joined by other providers which included his sister and fellow Nurse Practitioner, Raissa Behm, Ashley Whatley and Tara (McDonald) Bertoldo.
Francis had a dream of providing first-class, inclusive and individualized care to everyone. He believed that the primary care office should be a place “where family feels at home.” Pride Family Medicine was created through our dedication to continue excellent care to our community.
