When you start care, most people focus on the symptom that brought them in. But before that symptom shifts, we’re looking for something else: the acronym B.E.D.S.
Breathing. Is it deeper? Easier? Less shallow or labored?
Energy. Are you (or your child) feeling less exhausted? More capacity throughout the day?
Digestion. This is huge. If we can get the entire digestive system to shift—more regular poops, less gas, less reflux, better appetite—that’s a positive sign the body is healing from the inside out.
Sleep. Are you falling asleep easier? Staying asleep longer? Waking up more rested?
These aren’t random improvements. They’re signs that your nervous system is starting to regulate. And when the nervous system regulates, everything else follows.
So if you’re early in care and wondering, “Is this working?” - check B.E.D.S. first. Those shifts tell us your body is responding, even if the original symptom hasn’t fully resolved yet.
Healing takes time. But these early wins? They matter.
