Founded in Cedar Rapids, IA in 1970, we have provided mental health crisis support and suicide prevention/intervention services to Iowans for more than 50 years. Services include crisis phone, text, and chat support; mobile crisis outreach; mental health law enforcement liaisons; emergency youth shelter; and supportive services for youth aging out of foster care. Darcy is always a smiling face when people visit our Headquarters, manages many tasks across the agency, and is always ready to help staff navigate issues. Congratulations Darcy!

Session Description:
Iowa launched a new behavioral health system this summer, aimed at better connecting Iowans with mental health and disability services. We’ll talk about how the rollout is going and what it means for Iowans across the state. Is it helping provide more streamlined services? What’s being done to adjust as the rollout continues?

We will be at the screening of "Country" at Grumpy's Bar, & Event Center in Readlyn on Oct. 4 with information about our mental health care and su***de prevention services.

This 1984 film, which is set in Iowa, includes a scene where a character attempts su***de. This occurs during the film's exploration of the emotional toll of financial hardships on rural families.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:30 p.m. It's free and open to the public.

Join us TOMORROW (Sept. 19) for a hiring event to become a back-up Youth Shelter staff member at Foundation 2 Crisis Services! We’re looking for compassionate and reliable individuals who are ready to support youth in need.

🕘 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
📍 Foundation 2 Headquarters (305 2nd Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401)

Our back-up Youth Shelter roles offer flexible scheduling with both full and partial shifts available each week. It’s a chance to earn extra income while supporting youth and making a meaningful impact in your community.

Walk-in interview appointments are accepted. Bring a list of 3 references and your resume. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a background check.
