April 1st PowHERful Impact Training finished up our very first 90 day challenge. This challenge included a daily checklist with accountability, workouts and nutrition. The grand prize was building healthy habits to jump start the new year and $500 while making friends along the way. While there were many AMAZING before and after pictures there was only 1 grand prize winner 🥇 Here is what our grand prize winner had to say about the challenge..

… I’m so glad I participated in the inaugural PIT New Year’s Challenge. Over the course of last year, I had regained some of the weight I had previously lost. I had tried to get myself going again a couple of times but had stopped soon after starting. I wasn’t in a good head space about it. The one healthy habit I managed to keep going through that time was continuing to go to my classes at the PIT (and playing tennis). It wasn’t fun feeling the exercises get harder and looking at the mirrors and seeing the changes. But it kept me from giving up all together. When the New Year’s Challenge came along, I knew I wanted to give it a go. I love a challenge and the competition and support that comes along with it. It was great to have a meal plan, outlines for more exercise and the daily accountability of having to check the boxes and post about it with others working on the same goals. I feel like my mind is back to being focused on healthy habits and I plan to continue with the plan (94 days of 10k steps and counting), with a little more flexibility, until I get back to where I had been. I appreciate the support and encouragement from everyone along the way, especially my 6 AM peeps. I hope everyone that participated got some improvement out of it—progress is progress. And if you’re continuing to work at it to reach your goals, know that I’m out here keeping on keeping on too. And if I fall back, I know you’ll be there to break my fall. It’s great to have won the challenge and the winnings were an incentive, but the real win is the progress I’ve made mentally and physically. And if you made progress in those areas, you’re a winner too!

Did you know that if you eat on plan all week and let loose on the weekend you can actually lose all the progress you made during the week or worse?

Here are a few tips:

👊🏻 Have a plan before you head into the weekend.

👊🏻 Have meals prepped and veggies on hand for quick grab snacks if you feel the need to munch on something.

👊🏻 Keep the same eating schedule you have during the week so that you avoid major starvation where you lose all self control.

👊🏻 Stay active! Most junk calories are consumed out of boredom.
