The Arc of East Central Iowa is gearing up for their 2nd Annual Touch-A-Truck— a FREE community event on 8/9 at Kirkwood’s Linn Hall north parking lot!

We are thrilled to share our exciting partnership with Lids, a major sports apparel retailer!

In August, The Arc & Lids will work together to tell the story of The Arc and feature our brand in stores nationwide.

Help raise the profile of The Arc:

- Buy a hat or other merchandise at a Lids store and round up to the nearest dollar at the register. Your donation will go to The Arc.

- Get a hat with The Arc’s logo! You can get our logo custom embroidered on any Lids hat and $7 from your purchase will go straight to our mission.

The Lids Foundation and The Arc share a vision of a world in which people with disabilities have the resources needed to lead active, healthy lives on their own terms. Lids is educating their store employees about our work and showcasing their commitment to our cause.

Shop at our local Lids store in Lindale Mall or any Lids store in August and support The Arc and people with disabilities!

This past weekend we had a bunch of fun group respite activities going on. Friday night participants went out for a night on the town with 'Grub and Gather' at Parlor City Pub. Then participants on Saturday enjoyed 'Recess' at Wikiup Hill.

Next Saturday is our 2nd Annual Touch -A- Truck FREE community event and the line up is amazing! We will have a: fire engine, police car, dump truck, plows, grapple truck, garbage truck, street sweeper, book mobile, race cars, cyber truck, semis, wreckers, troop transporter, concrete mixer, crane, buses, weiner mobile, vintage apple truck, skid loader, combine, limos, ambulance, and many more!

From 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 9th come on out to Kirkwood Community College - north parking lot of Linn Hall and see all of these vehicles up close! 11:00 - Noon will be sensory hour so no lights or sirens will be used during this time. There will also be food available for purchase, a raffle, and some activities. Free will donations will be collected for The Arc.

Bring the whole family... You definitely will not want to miss this!
