We had a blast at our first annual Baseball Tournament Fundraiser this past Saturday! Thanks to the support and generosity of our community, 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 $𝟱𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 to support the free services we offer local cancer patients, including wellness classes, social work sessions, nutrition counseling, clinical trial participation and more.

𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟳𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 were in attendance, from 𝟭𝟯 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝘅 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀! Thank you to Cedar Rapids Kernels' Mr. Shucks for making an appearance, and a huge shout out to Prospect Meadows for donating their facility and staff to support our cause. Their partnership made this day possible!

Join us this Sat., Aug. 9 at Prospect Meadows for the first Fighting Cancer Together youth baseball tournament! Ball games start at 9 a.m. featuring 9u-17u teams from across Iowa. The winners of each division will walk away with this championship belt! Admission is $5, and all proceeds from the day benefit cancer patients right here in Eastern Iowa.

In addition to baseball, there will be activities all day long, including "pizza races" and an appearance from Cedar Rapids Kernels' Mr. Shucks! There will be a metal baseball where attendees can tie a ribbon in memory of a loved one who fought cancer, and Fighting Cancer Together apparel will be available for purchase as another way to support the cause. We hope to see you there!

Our Executive Director, Andrea Watkinson, stopped by -TV9 this weekend to share details about the upcoming Fighting Cancer Together baseball tournament, which takes place this Saturday, August 9 at Prospect Meadows. The community is invited to come out, watch some baseball, participate in fun activities and support a great cause!
