No prior yoga experience? No problem. Join us for our upcoming April Journeys meeting: Yoga for Grief.

Our instructor, Kimberly Jaeger-Arjes, will guide an intuitive and awareness-based movement flow focusing on alignment, space, and breath. Yoga for Grief pairs well with those who are grieving or who experience any level of grief in loss.

There is no cost. Plan to wear comfortable clothing.

This experience is chair-based and can be adapted for your personal range of mobility and comfort.

Journeys is a free bereavement social group, open to all, which meets monthly at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood: 520 Wilson Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids. The group was founded with the goal to support those in our community who have experienced the loss of someone they love, with the understanding that grieving hearts need care and connection.

Today we hosted a special luncheon for those experiencing their first Valentine's Day after the loss of a spouse or partner.

Holidays can feel especially tender when grieving. Our hope was to create a space where love could be honored, stories could be shared, and no one had to navigate the day alone.

There was a lot of laughter and beautiful connection created around the tables! We are so grateful for all who joined us.

Yesterday's Journeys meeting was the perfect intersection of creativity, joy, mindfulness, and remembrance.

After engaging in a mindful moment, Journeys members created one-of-a-kind painted rocks along with the gentle guidance of Jodi Stepanek of Big Heart Meditation and Mindfulness.

Stories were shared and new memories were made.

Journeys is a bereavement social group that meets once each month at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood. It is free to attend and open to anyone in the community.

Our next meeting will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, March 9th.

Are you on a grief journey? Are you seeking a welcoming community of others to connect with? The staff at Murdoch Funeral Homes welcomes all to attend our upcoming Journeys bereavement social group meeting on Monday, February 9th at 2:30 p.m. We will be joined by the incredible Jodi Stepanek with Big Heart Meditation and Mindfulness for an afternoon of guided, mindful art making as we create painted images on rocks and stones.

Cost is free. No prior artmaking experience is necessary.

Visit the old Younkers space at Lindale Mall from 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday for live music, a holiday train, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and more!

We’re proud to be part of the fun at the Center Point Harvest Festival again this year! Bring the whole family out to Fross Park tomorrow from 10 a.m. until noon for music, seasonal vendors, face painting, bounce house, community trunk or treat, and more.

Stop by our "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" trunk for a sweet treat! Can't wait to see you there!

Big day tomorrow, it's the 2025 Harvest Festival! Get those costumes ready, and head out to Fross Park at 10am!
