🚨URGENT ALERT🚨

In the closing hours of the legislative session, an amendment to a bill seeking to support survivor benefits for fallen veterans was introduced. This amendment will impair transgender Iowans from changing their birth certificate as allowed under current law. The amendment redefines s*x as being strictly assigned at birth.

The impact of this legislation on trans Iowans will be harsh. Legislators shouldn't hold veterans benefits hostage for culture war nonsense. Please contact your legislators ASAP to tell them to oppose amendment H-8380 to SF 2430 - we only have a few hours!
