What a fiesta we had today at Grand Living at Indian Creek! 💃🌮 We officially celebrated Cinco de Mayo in true "First Class" style, with excitement happening from sunrise to sunset.

The fun started early with festive snacks at the front desk to get everyone in the spirit. Our Luminations residents enjoyed a special Margarita Lunch, followed by a lively after-party with the talented Dave Wirtz that kept the energy high! 🎶

The main event took place in our Forum Theater, which was completely transformed into a colorful fiesta. We snacked on chips, queso, and salsa while sipping on margaritas and enjoying the sounds of mariachi music in the background. We even tested our aim with a hilarious game of Cactus Ring Toss! 🌵⭕️

One of the highlights of the entire day was coming together as a community to sing a very special Happy Birthday to our beautiful resident, Deana! 🎂✨

From the music and the games to the delicious food and wonderful company, our hearts (and stomachs!) are full. It was a day filled with laughter, celebration, and so much joy. 🎊🍹

Our hearts are full today at Grand Living at Indian Creek! We have some incredibly special news to share regarding our commitment to serving our local community.

We are officially moving to a bi-monthly commitment with Mission of Hope, where our residents will be stepping in to serve lunch and support those experiencing homelessness and others in need.

The response from our residents has been truly overwhelming—so many of you have raised your hands to help that our volunteer list is growing faster than we ever imagined! While the kitchen only needs about 7 to 8 volunteers daily, we want to ensure that every resident who feels called to serve has the opportunity to do so. To make that possible, we are launching an alternating schedule so everyone can take their turn sharing a meal and a smile.

There is a unique kind of joy that comes from giving back, and seeing our residents lead with such compassion is a beautiful reminder of the spirit of our community. We are so excited to begin this journey of service and to help our neighbors when they need it most. ✨❤️

The past few days have been a whirlwind of color, rhythm, and pure happiness! There is nothing quite like the tradition of May Day baskets to bring out the creative spirit in everyone.

Between the vibrant flowers, the sweet treats, and the music playing in the background, the energy in the community has been absolutely contagious. Seeing everyone’s "creative minds" at work to put these surprises together has been the best way to kick off the new month. It’s a beautiful reminder of how simple gestures—and a little bit of song—can create so much joy.

A huge shout out to one of our residents, Mae, who took the time and made a beautiful basket display at the front desk for all to enjoy!!

Our floral arrangement gathering is always a community favorite, and today’s session was truly special. For many of our residents, this isn’t just a hobby—it’s a walk down memory lane. We have many residents who enjoyed their flower gardens and always love to share stories.

Whether we were carefully selecting the perfect stem for a personal vase or putting together a bright surprise for a friend, the room was full of creativity and smiles. Some of these beautiful arrangements are even being tucked into May baskets to be given away tomorrow!

We didn’t even have to pack a bag to feel the magic of Italy today! The incredible Corrine from Art Joy Connect took over Grand Living and hosted the ultimate "Trip to Rome" for our residents.

From the moment we "boarded," the energy was electric! We spent the afternoon:

Exploring the sights of the Eternal City through Corrine's wonderful presentation.

Immersing ourselves in the culture and history of Italy.

Indulging in the most decadent, authentic Tiramisu you’ve ever tasted! 🍰🥄

Everyone got fully on board, and for a moment, we truly felt like we were sitting in a Roman piazza soaking up the sun. It was an afternoon filled with laughter, "Bellissimo!" moments, and wonderful company.

🧼✨ Welcome to the Walker Wash! ✨🧼

This month for our Luminations Mixer, we took "spring cleaning" to a whole new level with our annual Walker Wash! It was a total blast watching everyone roll through the stations to get their wheels looking brand new.

We had the full professional treatment set up:
💦 The Wash Station – Getting those frames sparkling clean.
💨 The Dry Station – A quick buff to make them shine.
🛠️ Maintenance & Repair – A little "tune-up" to keep everyone rolling smoothly.
✨ The Detail Station – This was easily the highlight! Our residents got to customize their rides with cool license plates, fresh scents, and that extra bit of sparkle.

Once the "vehicles" were show-ready, everyone headed over to the Refuel Station for some well-deserved snacks and drinks! 🍪🍹

We had such a special day at our community as we welcomed students from Summit School! The kids stopped by to interview our residents for a history project they’re working on, and honestly, we aren’t sure who had more fun—the students or our residents.

There is something truly magical about watching history come to life through personal stories. It brought so much joy to everyone involved, but it was especially touching for those in our community who were teachers in their younger years. Seeing them step back into that mentor role and help these young children learn was a beautiful reminder that once a teacher, always a teacher!

Thank you, Summit School, for visiting us. You didn't just learn about history today—you made our day a whole lot brighter!

What an incredible morning at Camp Courageous! ☀️🍳

We had the best time heading out to the annual Omelette Breakfast today. Not only was the food delicious (nothing beats a custom omelette!), but we also had the honor of meeting the new CEO. It’s so exciting to hear the vision for the future of such a vital organization.

After breakfast, we went on a full-blown adventure:

🏢 Touring the grounds: It was amazing to see all the new buildings and growth on campus.

🐾 Animal snuggles: We might have spent a little too much time making new furry friends!

🚂 Train ride: Taking a scenic loop around the camp was the perfect way to soak it all in.

🚀 The Grand Finale: We ended the morning flying high on their incredible zip line!

We are so incredibly proud to support and donate to this amazing foundation. The work they do to provide year-round recreational and respite care opportunities for individuals with disabilities is truly life-changing.
