Harrigan Development Services

Harrigan Development Services provides both vocational and supportive services to individuals with disabilities.

Harrigan Development Services provides vocational placement and coaching for people with disabilities and supportive services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Our supportive services program works with adults with developmental disabilities who are dealing with issues associated with transitioning to adulthood and who have seen all or most of their services cut off after high school. Clients and families work one-on-one with a clinical service provider to help engage in social activities and explore supports within their community. Our vocational services program works with individuals transitioning from school to work and those who are re-entering the workforce. HDS has a team of job developers and job coaches whose experience and expertise primarily center around helping clients with varying disabilities and employment needs. Whether assisting with the development of internships or permanent employment sites, the HDS team prides itself in finding innovative and creative ways to help individuals with the job search process. Harrigan Development Services also assists businesses to fulfill their diverse labor needs with pre-evaluated and job-ready candidates. Employers who seek out HDS are typically interested in finding qualified interns or permanent employees. HDS has worked with numerous small and large size businesses who have seen the win-win situation created by receiving trial employment at no cost, along with our team's continuous support to ensure success.

✨ Big News from Stepping Stones ✨

As we near the end of our first pilot year of the Stepping Stones Independent Living Program, we’re incredibly proud of the growth, progress, and confidence we’ve seen in our participants.

This year has been a success, and it has also been a powerful learning experience. Because of what we’ve learned, we’re excited to announce an important evolution in the program.

Stepping Stones will now offer three distinct pathways within our Independent Living Program for our young adult participants!

Participants will have the flexibility to individualize their experience by choosing:
• One pathway
• Two pathways
• Or all three

This structure allows each participant to build a program that aligns with their personal goals, interests, and readiness for independence. See the flyer below for more details for each pathway option!

Growth looks different for everyone — and now, Stepping Stones can reflect that.

Harrigan Happenings: Chili Cook-Off Edition!

This week, mentors and clients teamed up for our very own chili cook-off, and the creativity (and friendly competition!) did not disappoint. From the winning chili dip to chili mac and just about every other type of chili you can imagine, there was something for everyone to taste and enjoy.

Beyond the delicious food, it was such a fun way to collaborate, try something new, and share a few laughs together. We love finding creative ways to build connection, and this one definitely brought the heat! 🔥

Winter hasn’t slowed us down at HDS! ❄️

We’ve been staying busy and having lots of fun baking sweet treats, getting creative with crafts, heading out into the community, and even enjoying a cozy pajama party. These moments of connection, laughter, and shared experiences are what make our days so special, and we love seeing everyone continue to learn, grow, and have fun together- no matter the season (or the temperature)

It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks at HDS!

We kicked things off this year with a staff meeting at Gateway Sports, got creative tie-dyeing with Compass, welcomed Stepping Stones back, and continued exploring the community through our adventures. Lots of learning, laughter, and great moments all around.

Because of your generosity and teamwork, we were able to donate a reported 324 pounds of food.
