Israel and America: More than places they are dreams and visions.
Both are worth fighting.
Some places are more than geography—they are spiritual visions.
Jerusalem is not just a city. It is a symbol of peace, justice, and the unity of humankind under one loving God. The prophets called it the place where swords would be turned into plowshares and nations would train for war no more. In Jewish tradition, it’s the heart of the world—where Divine presence meets earth. It is really a holy calling to be fulfilled.
Those promoting hatred of Jews or the one Jewish State are enemies of civilization. Anyone with even a basic grasp of Jewish history understands why Israel must remain a Jewish State and must forever be able to defend itself, by itself. It cannot be forced to coexist with neighbors sworn to its destruction who continue trying to achieve that goal. The Jewish people have learned—very painfully—what happens when they are without a homeland. “Never Again” is not just a phrase. It is a warning, a truth, and a call to action.
Still, we believe the day will come when the spirit of peace, light, and love will spread its wings over Jerusalem—not just as a city, but as a model for what the world can become.
America, too, was founded on a vision: liberty, justice, and human dignity under God. Though we’ve often fallen short, the dream persists. America has been wounded—but the answer is not to tear it down and start over. There is still much that is good to be built upon.
When our Founders spoke of a “more perfect union,” they knew perfection wasn’t immediate—but they aimed high. A nation must grow in virtue or it will inevitably fail and fall. The answer is to build America up—toward its highest potential.
To pray for the peace of Jerusalem is to pray for a world redeemed. To say America is worth fighting for is to fight for our exalted principles. Ultimately the choice is character or chaos.
Jerusalem, the very heart of Israel, and America, must both must be defended, not just from enemies without, but from cynicism, divisiveness, polarization, false narratives, and distortions within.
Like Jerusalem, America must be more than a place, it is a living moral project. Both must strive to inspire people to rise higher, listen deeper, and serve a greater purpose.
A Call to Us All
Protect both Israel and Jerusalem as a meeting place of many great religions and a beacon of peace.
Protect America, a torchbearer of moral clarity and freedom that is learning from experience as it grows. We see that our great power means great responsibility.
Both must resist shallow slogans, distorted media, and ideologies that replace peace with rage, or truth with spin.
A lie repeated enough becomes-in peoples minds- truth. After years of dehumanizing and demonizing a nation, like Israel, people begin to feel that it is only fitting to starve the one Jewish State economically and to punish it and anyone suspected of supporting it. This is the propaganda that is being spread today and it has a very destructive aim. We have seen a strikingly similar wave of propaganda directed at Jews in Europe only 80 years ago.
When we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and say America is worth fighting for, we are defending a vision—fighting for the soul of what these places were always meant to be.
Let us be the ones who protect civilization, listen, build, love, and serve—so that both Jerusalem and Israel its protector, and America can fulfill their God-given roles in healing a broken world.
