The model for cancer care is “one-stop-shopping” with both medical oncology and radiation oncology located in the same building.

The Cancer Network of West Central Ohio was formed in 2004 as a not-for-profit partnership of 4 regional hospitals to bring state-of-the-art cancer treatment services to West Central Ohio. The Cancer Network operates the Grand Lake Regional Cancer Center in Celina, Ohio. The establishment of this Center has allowed patients to receive quality cancer treatment close to home. Patients are provided the highest quality expert care with the latest technology and state-of-the-art equipment. Our patients have reduced travel and wait times, a personalized treatment plan and receive care from a dedicated, compassionate staff. Members

Targeted therapy uses drugs specifically designed to focus on certain features of cancer cells, helping treat the disease while limiting effects on normal cells. 💙

Cancer cells divide more rapidly than normal healthy cells, and high doses of radiation can kill cancer cells by stopping them from dividing any further. Radiation can damage normal cells, and most of the time, normal cells will recover better than abnormal cells. The Radiation Oncologist will use the treatment plan to target the cancer cells while avoiding normal, healthy cells as much as possible.
