What began as an experimental statement for the runway of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp now returns as an exclusive capsule — refined, functional, and ready to step beyond the institution. We are proud to introduce a reworked edition of KOMONO x Gabrielle Szwarcenberg’s eyewear design.

Komono X Gabrielle Szwarcenberg Silver - 58â–«17-140 - 100% Stainless Steel - Polarized Lenses

For her Master’s collection, Gabrielle turned to childhood as a space of imagination and freedom. Inspired by Beatnik artist Harry Smith’s String Figure archive, she translated loops and knots into overlapping wire structures — merging sunglasses with sculptural jewelry.

Komono X Gabrielle Szwarcenberg White Gold - 58â–«17-140 - 100% Stainless Steel

KOMONO now reintroduces this vision in a refined capsule edition of three lens and metal combinations: keeping the string-like lines but distilled into lighter frames and sleeker proportions, designed for everyday wear.

The first eyewear collection for Abercrombie & Fitch features sun and optical styles for both adults and kids that provide a rich heritage combined with minimalistic and elevated designs. Each unique style is designed to effortlessly elevate personal style.

Cohesive and discreet design elements throughout the adult’s sun and optical collection, such as signature rivet designs on the exterior temples, and heritage logos are strategically placed on the end caps and inner temples, which provide an effortless modern look.

The kid’s collection is crafted with a mindful aesthetic for those who want to look and feel their fashionable best, though in smaller versions of the adult collections. The Abercrombie kids’ logo is strategically placed on the exterior of the temple for strong brand identity. The iconic moose design component is added to the interior temple tip, which provides a fun and youthful element.

DaTE took a chance, and it paid off. Bringing the world of cutting-edge eyewear to a legendary temple of nightlife like the Cocoricò was not without its risks. And yet, the response was loud and clear: producers, designers, opticians, buyers, distributors, and journalists flocked to the Riccione pyramid, transforming it into a stunning platform of creativity and experimentation.

The 2025 edition drew 1000 visitors, mostly from Italy, but also opticians and buyers from European countries like Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, and Spain.

“To say we are pleased doesn’t even come close,” commented President Davide Degl’Incerti Tocci. The figures speak for themselves, but even more so, the extraordinary energy that filled the air during these days – enthusiastic companies, curious visitors, the media and social channels that followed us closely, and the work of a cohesive and passionate team.

For Fall/Winter 2025, MODO expands its Acetate Collection with two new styles that explore the expressive potential of a classic material.

Style 6570 features a bold, confident shape designed to highlight the depths and texture of acetate. It’s offered in the dynamic colors Stripy Green, Grey Tortoise, Candy Blue, and Black – each one bringing a unique character to the frame.

Complementing 6570 is style 6571, a rectangular frame with a refined silhouette. The color palette includes soft and earthy tones such as Bark and Crystal Green, and each finish enhances the richness of the acetate.

These new additions reflect MODO’s ongoing approach to timeless design – elevated by detail, color, and craft.

Bold shapes, gorgeous gradients, and a touch of sophistication define the feminine spirit of MOREL’s designs for women. ANNA, the company’s latest release, features rich coloration through weaving bright and darker hues.

A dazzling display of confidence and creativity

These high-definition acetate frames offer a charming mix of feminine shapes and soothing tones. In some models, the brows are tinted in darker shades for a unique blush effect, drawing attention to the eyes and contrasting the otherwise transparent acetate. ANNA’s brilliant design details are further reflected in the temples. Wearers and onlookers alike will notice distinct patterns, ranging from tortoiseshell gradients to an aquatic, stained-glass look, in one particular green style. In addition to providing optimal comfort and flexibility, the stainless-steel hinges grant a subtle aesthetic touch with coloration that matches the fronts in a pink/blue and green/orange style.

Optical News With Independent Views

For 12 years, The Optical Vision Site and Optical Vision Resources provided a different slant on our optical community. In September of 2019, we merged both websites into a new name with a new look and a new outlook as well. We are here to help independent optical do things a little better, a little smarter, and have fun doing so.
