Take a look at how the nerves branching from your spinal cord appear!

Our bodies have 31 pairs of spinal nerves: 8 in the cervical region (neck), 12 in the thoracic region (mid-back), 5 in the lumbar region (lower back), 5 in the sacral region (pelvic area), and 1 in the coccygeal region (tailbone). These nerves are vital for sending motor, sensory, and autonomic signals between the spinal cord and the rest of the body.

They help us move voluntarily, feel sensations, and regulate essential functions like breathing and digestion. The human body is truly an amazing creation!

We're proud to recognize Michael as our April Volunteer of the Month! Since 2017, Michael has been a dependable part of the Hope Starts Here Food Bank team, especially known for his hard work on the truck with frozen foods. What truly sets Michael apart isn’t just his dedication—it’s his heart. When he was awarded Volunteer of the Month, he gave his prize to a random car in the food line, reminding us that kindness often speaks loudest through simple, selfless acts. These small gestures, along with countless others, are what make our community stronger. Thank you, Michael, for showing us what hope in action looks like.

Hi KFC Family! Ever feel stressed out? Want to know of a small thing you can do to help relieve that? When stressed, your body holds onto it by tightening / shortening the muscles so what is a simple solution?

STRETCH!

Stretching is like sending a "thank you" note to your body. Here are some benefits:

Increased Flexibility: Regular stretching helps your muscles lengthen and become more pliable.

Improved Blood Flow: Stretching can enhance circulation by increasing blood flow to your muscles.

Better Posture: Stretching helps to relieve tight muscles that can lead to poor posture.

Reduced Stress: It can help relax tense muscles and calm your mind.

Injury Prevention: Keeping your muscles flexible can reduce the risk of injuries.

Enhanced Performance: Athletes often stretch to improve their range of motion and overall performance.

Pain Relief: Regular stretching can help reduce muscle and joint pain.

So, whether you're an athlete or just want to feel better throughout your day, stretching can be a fantastic addition to your routine. Do you stretch regularly? Or are you thinking about starting?
