Reaching your goal—whether it is to play with your kids, go on adventures, garden, compete, or just live without pain—is our sole mission at Reach Physical Therapy & Wellness. Dr. Lyle McKissick (PT, DPT, CFC, MTC, CMP, Cert-FDN) is a physical therapist with expertise in treating cranial facial pain, particularly involving the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and all associated muscles and nerves. His approach is characterized by a comprehensive evaluation of the TMJ and its intricate relationships with the upper cervical spine, as well as the roles of the peripheral and central nervous systems. Dr. Lyle also addresses external factors such as bruxism (teeth grinding), clenching, and stress, providing holistic care tailored to each patient's specific needs. Dr. McKissick's treatment regimen includes a range of therapeutic modalities, such as manual soft tissue mobilization, mobilizations and manipulations of the cervical and thoracic spine, and the TMJ. He also utilizes complementary therapies like trigger point dry needling, electrical stimulation, cupping, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization. This multifaceted approach ensures that each patient receives personalized and effective care. In addition to his cranial facial expertise, Dr. McKissick treats injuries, pain, surgery rehabilitation, and pre-surgery preparation for the entire body. Our personalized approach ensures we meet patients wherever they are on their path to health during each visit. At Reach Physical Therapy & Wellness, we know a patient’s time with us is a stepping stone to a stronger, healthier version of themself. Patient care is focused on the whole person with one-to-one treatment. A native of Wyoming, Dr. McKissick grew up surrounded by the state's breathtaking mountains, forests, and wide-open terrain. His passion for outdoor recreation and active adventures has been a constant throughout his life and continues to be a central part of his lifestyle. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming and went on to receive his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Regis University in 2013. As a lifelong learner committed to providing the best care, Dr. McKissick actively pursues continuing education and advanced certifications. He is notably the only physical therapist in Colorado with a Cranial Facial Certification and one of fewer than 100 physical therapists in the United States to hold this specialized qualification. Outside of his professional work, Dr. McKissick enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He can often be found rafting on rivers, mountain biking, skiing, camping, and engaging in various outdoor adventures.
