Noah Drucker and I are running our first Inner Freedom Technique class starting at the end of February. This class is an amalgamation of all of the hypnosis strategies we have learned as well as the 9 years of clinical wisdom we have gained as hypnosis practitioners. We are both really excited to present it! ⁣

So far we have 3 people signed up, and we are committed to running this class as is, but we’d really love for more people to attend so that we can have more dynamic conversations and have more opportunities for people to practice with one another. ⁣

The class dates are: 2/29-3/3 and 4/4-4/8 and are all on Zoom. The hours are 9-5 MST. ⁣

You will be learning: ⁣

- the basics of hypnosis (theory, stages, ethics, benefits, limitations, myths)⁣
- how to bring a person in and out of a trance state⁣
- how to do a good intake/initial assessment (this is very important!)⁣
- how to create a comprehensive plan of care⁣
- several scripts clearing difficult experiences, causes for patterns, helping a person with past-life trauma, post surgery or injury scripts, and others⁣
- how to language affirmations, use affirmations to create helpful belief systems⁣
- self-care strategies⁣
- the business of hypnotherapy/hypnosis, how to practice responsibly and ethically⁣
- and more!⁣

At the end of the course you will need to complete some case studies, but once those are done you will be certified hypnotists via the International Hypnosis Association and will also be certified in IFT itself. ⁣

The cost of this class is $2000, broken into 3 chunks. Registration requires a deposit of $500 to save your spot, and the remaining two payments of $750 must be made prior to each of the two sections of class- so $750 a week prior to session 1, and the remaining $750 1 week prior to session 2. You can also send the entire amount at any time via Venmo (to -Francis-24) or we can invoice you for tax purposes. The deposit is fully refundable if you cancel prior to 1/29/24.⁣

Let me know if you have any questions! I think it’s going to be a really great learning experience for all of us. ⁣

(Hypnosis uniquely helps us explore everything beneath the water line!)

Here's how we work with people who struggle with this common and painful condition at DPPS:

Vaginismus is a distressing condition that affects individuals of all ages and backgrounds. It is characterized by involuntary contractions or tightness of the pelvic floor muscles. This can make being sexually active or even using a tampon painful or impossible. While vaginismus can be emotionally....

In the realm of healthcare, accurate diagnosis is the cornerstone of effective treatment. One intriguing diagnostic tool that is often used by physical therapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and other skilled practitioners is direct muscle testing. This approach, often associated with modalities like Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex®, has proven to be a valuable asset for us at DPPS. There are many reasons that direct muscle testing (versus indicator muscle testing) is useful, and here are several:

Why Study Archetypes?

Carl Jung, the Swiss psychiatrist and founder of analytical psychology, theorized that archetypes move through the human psyche and influence our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in many ways. He proposed the concept of the "collective unconscious," which is a layer of the unconscious mind shared by all human beings. Within this collective unconscious, he identified many archetypes—universal, primordial symbols and patterns of thought that are inherited and shared across cultures and generations. These archetypes are not developed through personal experiences but are thought to be innate.

Archetypes can be recognized in archetypal images or symbols such as the mother, father, hero, and shadow. They are common to human experience and can be found in myths, fairy tales, religions, and dreams throughout history and across cultures. Archetypes are activated (or "constellated") in individuals' lives through personal experiences, dreams, and psychological processes. When an archetype is activated, it exerts a powerful influence on an individual's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This activation often occurs during times of crisis, personal growth, or when facing significant life challenges.

Jung also proposed the idea of "complexes," which are emotionally charged networks of associations related to a particular archetype. For example, someone with a strong mother complex may have deep-seated feelings and thoughts related to the mother archetype that influence their relationships and behaviors.

He believed that the goal of psychological development was individuation, which involves becoming conscious of and acting out of one's true, unique self. This process involves recognizing, confronting, and integrating the various archetypal influences within the individual's psyche. It requires bringing the unconscious elements into conscious awareness and finding a harmonious balance between them.

Jungians (scholars and therapists who resonate with his theories) observe that individuals often project their unconscious archetypal elements onto others. For example, if someone is not in touch with their own inner "hero," they might project heroic qualities onto someone they admire or perceive as a hero figure. This projection can lead to idealization or demonization of others and is a key aspect of interpersonal dynamics.

So within each of us, there are many archetypal patterns and forces at play, some of them known to us, and some of them unknown. If we want to understand why we think the way that we think, why we do the things that we do, and why we are attracted to who and what we are attracted to, it behooves us to not just stop with the childhood trauma and family dynamics stories, but to also explore the larger forces in the collective unconscious that are always influencing us in subtle and not so subtle ways.

There are many ways to do this sort of exploration:

1) you can hire a Jungian analyst to help you understand your dreams and personal symbolism and story.

2) you can read books by Jung and other Jungian authors such as Marion Woodman, Jean Shinoda Bolen, Robert Bly, Marie-Louise Von Franz, James Hillman, James Hollis, Barbara Hannah, and more

3) you can join Jamie in an 8 week class on Greek Goddess archetypes- discovering the 7 goddess archetypes in women and men (sign up here: https://attractwell.com/TheInnerWisdomSchool/page/goddesses-course)

4) You can sign up to get lots of resources on the Inner Wisdom School website where Noah and Jamie will be posting new blogs, podcasts, and other resources to help you on your individuation and self-discovery journeys. You can see that site and sign up for updates here: https://attractwell.com/TheInnerWisdomSchool/page/choose-your-journey)

5) You can sign up for a 1 or 2 hour session with Noah or Jamie to talk about symbolism and your dreams. Any emotions that are coming up while discovering these archetypes and complexes can be resolved easily with Inner Freedom Technique, so don't hesitate to book with us if you are feeling overwhelmed in relationship to these themes. You can book one of those sessions HERE.

Self discovery can be fun and also difficult at times, but it is so much easier with support. Please reach out and let us know how we can help you in this journey!

What is Therapy Localization (TL) in Applied Kinesiology?

Therapy Localization (TL) is a cornerstone technique in Applied Kinesiology (AK), a holistic approach to healthcare. Developed by Dr. George Goodheart, AK combines principles from chiropractic care, muscle testing, and Chinese medicine to evaluate and address imbalances within the body. TL specifically involves assessing muscular response to pinpoint areas of concern. The mechanism of TL is not completely understood at this time, but the theory is that we can interface with the central nervous system via the fine and crude touch receptors on the palmar side of our hand (or the patient’s hand) and cause a change in the nervous system’s response. For example, if we test a muscle and it tests weak, or “inhibited,” we can then use our hand to touch over various areas of the body and when we are over a problematic area that is related to the weak muscle, it will “flip” the test and the muscle will test strong. We can then go the that area that was touched and begin to assess for what kind of dysfunction might be present- muscle, tendon, ligament, fascial, organ, joint, etc.

In the pursuit of genuine healing, it is essential to move beyond mere symptom management and dive deep into understanding the underlying causes of our physical and emotional discomfort. In this article, we will explore how Therapy Localization (TL), a vital concept in the world of Applied Kinesiolo...

Dear friends of DPPS,

We hope this finds you well as 2022 comes to a close! We are writing to update you on some exciting developments for DPPS:

We have been invited to join a state-of-the-art medical wellness campus being developed by some of the most forward-thinking physicians, therapists, and health practitioners in the country. This will be a first-of-its-kind facility, meant to ultimately disrupt and replace the traditional insurance-based model of healthcare. This 60,000 sq ft facility will include office space for physicians and therapists, a surgical center, medical spa, yoga studio, gym, farmer's market, meditation space, gardens, and more. It will be located in the Meridian business park, right off I-25 and Lincoln Ave.

The catch is that, due to economic conditions, the completion date of the facility is unknown at this time, and our existing lease is up at the end of this year. So, in order to remain flexible, DPPS is moving into temporary office spaces for the next 18 months.

Starting January 2, 2023, Noah, Jamie, Tori, and Marci will be at 9777 Pyramid Ct., Suite #150, Englewood, CO 80112. Conveniently, this is also in the Meridian business park, so there won't be much of a transition to the wellness campus.

At the same time, all DPPS movement therapy and treatment with Josh will be moving to 6142 S. Willow Dr., Suite 400, Greenwood Village, CO 80111. Despite having to separate into two locations for the time being, we remain a team and will continue to refer to one another as we have in the past in order to provide you with the best service possible. We will all join together again under one roof when the new facility is complete.

We apologize for any inconvenience this move may cause, and we will do our best to ensure a smooth transition. Our phone numbers, email addresses, and website will remain the same. You will find the process of scheduling will be streamlined with the start of the new year as well. As always, please contact us directly with any questions!

We would also like to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a happy holiday season. We look forward to seeing you at our new locations and we thank you for continuing to entrust us with your care.

With gratitude,

All of us at DPPS

Jamie is running a special on auriculotherapy for the month of August: $50 off for 50 minute sessions for anyone interested in trying this new modality.

What is auriculotherapy?

Auriculotherapy is the treatment of the brain and body via the ear in order to bring the body back into homeostasis. Its goal is to help the body and mind regain its resiliency in the face of changes in the internal and external environment. Jamie uses a device called a PointoSelect to treat active points on the ear that correspond with various parts of the body and brain. This device sends a short electrical stimulus via the ear to the brain and its pathways of communication to the rest of the body, either to tonify (increase the energy) or sedate (calm down or drain the energy). In doing so, the body becomes more balanced and symptoms reside.

What can auriculotherapy help with?

The range of conditions that can be effectively treated by auriculotherapy is wide. The research done so far shows great efficacy for pain, including chronic pain and pain from cancer, anxiety, addiction, sleep issues, and weight conditions. Anecdotally, auriculotherapy also successfully treats migraines, depression, insomnia, digestive disorders, grief and other emotional conditions, stress, shock, bed wetting, high blood pressure, erectile dysfunction, tinnitus and hearing loss, dysautonomia, and many other conditions and symptoms.

How long is a session and how many do people need?

Sessions run 50 minutes long, with some intake questions. One can easily spend 30 minutes treating one ear alone, because there are so many points that can be active and needing balancing. However, the sessions will be tailored to a person’s main complaints, and as those symptoms reduce, other areas of treatment can be added into the treatment plan.

Most people see results within 1-3 sessions, and for long standing conditions, such as autoimmune diseases or arthritis, 6-10 sessions will bring at least moderate relief of the symptoms. For typical complaints of pain after injury, it is common to have relief of pain within a shorter period of time.

Why do auriculotherapy vs. other forms of bodywork or hypnotherapy?

Auriculotherapy has unique ways of helping the body come back into homeostasis that are not accessible via other forms of bodywork that we do at DPPS, because of the breadth of body systems it can access. It requires very little participation by the client, so it is deeply relaxing. The device used can measure hyper- or hypoactivity of points and the changes in that activity can be tracked over time to measure improvements in health. It can also be successfully used with younger children who may or may not be able to cooperate with muscle testing or directions to relax for hypnotherapy.

What should I expect after?

Most people experience a sense of deep physical and mental relaxation that lasts several hours to days, depending on lifestyle and stressors. Even if stress is felt immediately after, the body is using its new inputs to modulate reactions and remain in balance. You may find that what would really throw you off prior to treatment has much less effect on you afterwards. Some people become dizzy after a session, due to shifts in blood sugar as the body relaxes deeply, and may need a snack after the session. Many people notice they fall asleep and stay asleep more easily after having a session.

How can I sign up?

Click on the link below, and any session booked in a August will be honored at the $50 off our normal hourly rate. Thank you for supporting our growth and exploration of new ways to serve you!

06/27/2022

Jamie Francis is now practicing a new modality called auriculotherapy in the office. This modality is a method of assessing and treating the whole body by stimulating specific acupoints on the external ear using a device called a Pointoselect. The practitioner assesses the ears to determine if there are any areas of concern based on the appearance of the ear, palpation of the ear for tender spots and spots that blanch more than normal, and the response of the device. On some points, the device will indicate a point that needs to be sedated (the electrical energy needs to be dissipated) and other points will need to be tonified (energy needs to be strengthened).

Auriculotherapy can be used to treat some really interesting things, such as smoking addiction, bed wetting, migraines, vestibular issues, adrenal fatigue, insomnia, endocrine dysfunction, and pain, weakness, or over-activity of any part of the body.

If you are interested in trying this modality out, you can schedule an integrated therapy session and Jamie will assess if you are a good candidate for this modality and will combine it with the other forms of work she does.
