☀️ Hello Summer! ☀️ The first day of summer is coming in HOT!

School’s out, the sun is shining, and adventure is calling! Before your kiddos dive headfirst into summer fun, check out our Start of Summer Health Checklist to keep them healthy, happy, and safe all season long:

✅ Apply (and reapply!) sunscreen – SPF 30+ and water-resistant is a must
✅ Stay hydrated – Keep water bottles close, especially on hot days. Avoid sugary drinks when you can.
✅ Bug protection – Use kid-safe insect repellent during outdoor play
✅ Routine check-ups – Schedule wellness visits or sports physicals now (use MyChart for easy & fast scheduling!)
✅ Outdoor safety – Helmets for bikes, supervision around water, and shaded playtime
✅ Healthy snacks – Keep fruits, veggies, and protein-rich foods on hand
✅ Screen time balance – Mix digital fun with outdoor adventures

It's allergy season!
Not sure if your child's sniffles are from allergies or illness? Here's a quick Allergy Symptom Care Checklist to help you manage allergies like a pro:

✅ Itchy eyes, nose, or throat
✅ Sneezing fits—especially outdoors
✅ Clear runny nose (not green/yellow)
✅ Cough that lingers, especially at night
✅ No fever
✅ Worse on high pollen days or around pets/dust

🩺 What you can do:
✔ Use HEPA air filters
✔ Keep windows closed on high pollen days
✔ Change clothes after playing outside
✔ Try child-safe antihistamines (view our dosing chart on Pediatrics5280.com)
✔ Book an appointment if symptoms persist

Online/MyChart visit scheduling update:
We are excited to announce that you now can schedule many of your child’s sick visits and medication follow-ups on MyChart using a desktop computer or on the MyChart Mobile App. This will allow you to schedule sick visits up to one day in advance without calling our office.

Appointments that can be scheduled online include cold/ flu like symptoms, pink eye, strep, fever, vomiting, pain/injury, new or worsening symptoms, warts and metal health consults.

Some appointments such as concussions/head injury, chronic concerns, breathing concerns, or immediate mental health concerns will still require you call the office to ensure your child is safe to wait for an appointment or if more immediate action needs to be taken.

You will see a new option under your “schedule an appointment” tab that is for the same day sick appointments.
