Parenting is a dual journey. While you’re busy raising your children, you’re also being called to care for the younger, hurting parts of yourself. 🤍

If you find yourself reacting with “outsized” emotion to your child’s behavior, it might be time to look inward. Healing yourself is the greatest gift you can give your family.

Read this if you feel like you’re running on empty.

We talk a lot about “self-care,” but for most moms, that just sounds like another chore. Let’s make it simpler: You cannot pour from an empty cup. Taking ten minutes to yourself, saying “no” to that extra commitment, or choosing rest over chores isn’t selfish. It’s how you keep going. You don’t need a medical reason to take a break—you just need to be a person who realizes they have limits.

To the student feeling the weight of the moment: You aren’t weak, and you aren’t “bad at tests.” You are invested. 🕊️

Test anxiety is uncomfortable, but it isn’t dangerous. It’s a signal of your effort and your goals.

If you find yourself freezing or over-thinking, try these three quick grounding “resets”:
1️⃣ Feet-on-the-floor: Feel the support beneath you and drop your shoulders.
2️⃣ Box Breathing: Inhale, hold, exhale, hold (4 seconds each).
3️⃣ Sensory Check-in: Name 3 things you can see or feel in the room right now.

Our new blog by Dr. Joey Hsiao, Ph.D breaks down why this happens and how to use supportive self-talk to move through the spiral instead of getting stuck in it.

You’ve got this, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that sleep simply cannot fix.

For those who spend their lives pouring into others—pastors, parents, caregivers, and leaders—burnout often arrives unannounced. It disguises itself as “faithfulness” until the weight becomes too heavy to carry.

The truth? Burnout isn’t a moral failure. It’s a signal. It’s your soul’s way of telling you that your current pace is unsustainable.

In our latest blog, “Burnout: Naming it, Navigating it, and Guarding Against it,” we dive into a counseling and pastoral lens on burnout—moving past the myths and toward a life of honest, sustainable rhythms.

The “magic” isn’t in the matcha—it’s in the intentional pause. 🍵⚓️

In a world that never stops moving, the most productive thing you can do is learn how to stand still. We call this “Dropping Anchor.”

It’s not about making the stress disappear; it’s about finding a physical sensation—the warmth of a mug, the scent of the tea—to keep you steady when life feels messy.

Feeling like you need more than a tea break to weather the storm? Our team in Centennial is here to help you build the skills to navigate the constant waves. 🌊
