Kalungi’s story perfectly captures what we mean by making quality education accessible to children in Uganda’s rural districts.

She no longer has to wake up at 3 a.m. just to reach school. Today, she gets the rest she needs, and that means she can stay focused, energized, and ready to learn. You can help make education accessible for children in Budaka and Mayuge, where we are building new nursery and primary schools.

Schools should prepare students not just for exams, but for the real world. Too often, there’s a gap between classroom learning and everyday life — and that’s why we equip our students with practical vocational skills.

It was a privilege to see our students proudly showcase their creations during the Vocational Skills Exhibition. From tailoring and plumbing to knitting and other hands-on projects, their displays reflected creativity, innovation, and confidence.

Through strong partnerships, our impact has been amplified to greater heights.

We were delighted to host our friends: Heron Group, Migmir Foundation, Micah 6:8 Foundation, and Pureflow. Having collaborated with them for some time, it was an honor to give them a firsthand experience of what Musana is all about: children eagerly reciting the alphabet in class, women at MEC mastering new skills, and the vibrant community that drives development.

A heartfelt thank you to Heron Group for their investment in Musana’s work. Here’s to many more milestones achieved together!

This is the spirit of Musana: women supporting and uplifting one another. At the Musana Empowerment Center (MEC), aspiring entrepreneurs like Mutesi are gaining the skills and confidence to start their own businesses.

Eradicating poverty begins with understanding that poverty is more than the absence of income. It’s the lack of basic capabilities to live a dignified life, limited access to healthcare, education, food, clean water, and other essentials.

To truly end poverty, communities and organizations must work hand in hand, understanding local realities and building lasting solutions together.

At Musana, our approach focuses on empowering women through skills training and making quality healthcare and education accessible to all.

On this International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, we call upon everyone to play their part. It will take all of us, united under one cause, to end poverty and ensure every person lives a life of dignity.

🎉 Congratulations, Richard!

From the streets to becoming a certified welding and metal fabrication professional.

Born in Mayuge District, Richard lived with his aunt, whose main source of income was fishing. Unable to meet his basic needs, he found himself on the streets at just nine years old.

In 2013, Musana gave him a second chance, enrolling him in school and later supporting him to pursue vocational training at Pioneer Technical Institute, where he successfully completed his studies and graduated.

We are so proud of you, Richard. Onwards and upwards!

Miriam and Juliet run the knitting machine like they invented it. 🧶
Their hands bring warmth to more than 5,000 children across Musana Schools, one sweater at a time.

Their journey began at the Musana Empowerment Center, where they learned to operate the knitting machine. Today, they’re earning an income through their skills and building brighter futures for their families.

This is the future we envision for women. One of financial independence, freedom, and dignity. A future free from the cycle of gender-based violence that often stems from economic dependence.

✨ Be part of empowering more women like Miriam and Juliet. Click the link in our bio to support sustainable change.
