PM Center For Movement

PM Center For Movement When your body, emotions and mind are aligned with your Vision, you can create anything! We've lost the art of remaining aware and connected to our body.

There's something missing in today's fitness approach: the connection of your whole body with your mind. "Exercise" has become an isolated experience--something you do with separate parts of you body, and only at designated times. Learning how to integrate your body and mind will help you be more productive, more focused, and do better at life, no matter what your goals. Lindy and the Movement Instructors at Center for Movement combine cutting-edge BodyMind techniques with the latest in movement science to improve the way you do life!

If you want to build a strong body...you train.

If you want to build a strong mind...you train.

If you want to build emotional strength and resilience, guess what?

You train!

Most of us understand the concept that the body adapts under the demands of training, and with the RIGHT training, the adaptations the body makes are to get stronger, faster, more flexible, and more powerful.

With the WRONG training, the body can break down and become weak or injured.

The same is true when training the mind, emotions and nervous system.

The key is that it has to be the RIGHT training.

Over the last 25 years, I've been on a mission to find tools, techniques and training that supports me to build strength on the inside so I can go out an engage life with empowerment, freedom and joy.

I found the RIGHT training 10 years ago with Inner Matrix Systems, and the tools and techniques I've learned had such a profound influence on my life that I became a trainer with IMS. Now, I get to share this training with others, and I'd love for you to be one of those people.

Message me if you'd like to know more about IMS training, and we can set up a quick call to see if a complimentary 3-session Intro to IMS is a fit for you. I have just a couple of spots in November, and with the Holidays fast approaching, now is the time to train so you can create amazingness for yourself in 2025!

Today's benchmark for Thursday Adventure date day--Manitou Incline.

2 Miles, 2,000 ft elevation, and a whole lot of steps!

Last year when I did this climb, the main focus was to just get to the top, and I did. But it wasn't pretty! It took almost 2 hours, which is "average", and I took quite a few breaks in the little cul de sacs at the side of the trail.

In the last year, I upped my cardio training and lower body conditioning with an Vision of doing better on the Incline this year.

I added two more benchmarks--to make it to the top in under 90 mins, and to do it without stopping off in a cul de sac.

Today, I climbed it in 67 minutes and was able to complete the climb without taking a break, unless you count snapping a couple of pictures as a "break"! Vision fulfilled 👍

Next time, I'm doing the Incline in under an hour.

Having a vision, creating benchmarks and taking aligned action works!

If you'd like to know how to follow a proven system for making your vision a reality, no matter what you wish to achieve, DM me.

What a fun week it was last week hiking, biking, rafting and exploring the beautiful mountains around the Vail Valley.

At 69, after two hip replacements, a catastrophic knee injury, and an autoimmune disease diagnosis, it may seem hard to believe a full week of so much activity is possible.

Not only is it possible--it's amazing!

Thanks to Inner Matrix training, I've been following a system for the last 10 years to train strength, vitality and joy in the body, and I feel better every year.

Age, illness and injury don't have to hold us back from creating an experience of joy in the body. Message me if you'd like to know more about how Inner Matrix training can support you to transform the way you experience The Body.

I was pondering something the other day, and I wonder if you've noticed this about your experience of life.

Sometimes I can get so caught up in the doing that I forget to notice the being. I don't stop and ask, "who am I being right now?"

In the end, who we are being in the moment is far more important for our experience of life that what we are doing. But we get so focused on doing stuff that we miss our being-ness.

The phrase "I'm so busy" has become common-place, and many wear it like a badge of honor. Being busy doesn't necessarily man we're thriving!

If you're caught in the doing, trapped in the business of life, and would like to cultivate a different way of being that allows you to experience the precious moments of life, DM me. I have a few spots open in my complimentary 3-session Intro to Inner Matrix training, where you'll learn how to live fully present in the moment and say goodbye to "being busy".

Change is guaranteed.

And if change is guaranteed, why not design it?

I used to think life just happened and I was at the mercy of whatever came at me. Everything felt out of my control.

About 10 years ago, I learned you can design your own change. In my training with Inner Matrix Systems, I discovered there's a blueprint for creating a life of your own design, and a way to train yourself to make it happen.

With the right formula, commitment, consistency and focus, you can become a Master of Change! Message me if you'd like to know more.

Fundamentals Matter

John Wooden, the UCLA basketball coach who took the team to 12 national championships and won 10 of them, said, “It all begins with the socks”, he said, “Success begins from the ground up”.

He famously started the first practice of every season demonstrating how to correctly put on socks in order to avoid wrinkles, which would cause blisters, and how to correctly put on shoes so that there was no room for the shoe to rub, or for the sock to bunch up.

He would tell his players, who at this point were somewhat skeptical about this lesson in dressing themselves, "If there are wrinkles in our socks or our shoes aren’t tied properly, we may develop blisters. With blisters, some players might have to miss practice. When we miss our preparation time together, we may not be ready to play our best on the game day. And, if we don’t play at our best level, we may not win. All because we did not pay proper attention to how we put our socks and shoes on".

“I believe in the basics: attention to, and perfection of, tiny details that might be commonly overlooked. They may seem trivial, perhaps even laughable to those who don’t understand, but they aren’t. They are fundamental to your progress in basketball, business, and life. They are the difference between champions and near champions."

If we want to succeed in anything, we must learn to love the basics...we must embrace repeating the fundamentals. There are no shortcuts.

Whenever I start thinking I can skip the fundamentals, that I've already got that part figured out and don't need to keep repeating the foundational work of personal mastery, I remind myself that the people who are the best in the world at what they do are also the best at the basics.
