Our Story

Is having a baby not the experience you were expecting? Are you feeling overwhelmed with the responsibilities of caring for a newborn? Are you feeling scared, anxious, and not yourself since having your baby? Do you feel like something isn’t right, but you can’t quite say what it is?

1 in 7 women will experience postpartum depression within 12 months of giving birth. It is such a common experience, but many go untreated or misdiagnosed.

Welcome! I’m a therapist who provides counseling to support in the area of maternal mental health. This can be women who are trying to get pregnant, are pregnant and who are wanting a place to process this life event, or who are new parents who would like support in the adjustment to new parenthood. So often new parents feel like they are expected to be full of bliss upon getting pregnant or after the birth of a baby that they don’t feel like they can talk or be real about their struggles.

As a mother, I had my own struggle with adjusting to becoming a mother, and I experienced postpartum depression and anxiety. What I found is that having the right support from a mental health professional who knows how to treat perinatal mood disorders is crucial to helping those suffering from postpartum depression and anxiety find relief, and on the path to enjoying the special time of having a new baby. I have since received training and education in how to assess, diagnose, and treat perinatal mood disorders. My goal is to provide people with a safe space to talk about challenges, fears, and joys that come with being a parent, and help parents find solutions to begin feeling better immediately.
