Night Out with "The Girls"

Night Out with "The Girls" Night Out with "The Girls" empowers women, in a fun, unique way, to take action for their breast hea

Night Out with “The Girls” is a new twist on the old-fashioned girls’ night out that incorporates breast cancer early detection. Our events, both virtual and in-person, bring early detection information to women right where they tend to be most comfortable–with their girlfriends, having fun, in a relaxed environment. The NOWTG focus, through events hosted by our Beyond the Bra facilitators and corporate events, is to generate early detection awareness and share potentially life-saving information through comfort, connections, and conversation.

To our clients, the employees that participate in our programs, our vendors, our partners, and our supporters...WE THANK YOU! Without your support behind the importance of early breast cancer detection, we could not bring this education to employees and individuals across the country. In this season of gratitude and every day, we thank you!

Leave it to me to somehow connect early breast cancer detection to the Thanksgiving holiday🦃🤔 Let’s talk about BREASTS…not as in turkey, even though I am guessing that is what is on your minds😀Let’s remember this holiday season not to take a break from breast care…self breast exams, mammogram/screening appointments and just paying attention to “the girls”💪(•)(•)💪It is so darn easy to put the physical (and mental) health things that need to be addressed on the back burner during the hustle and BUSTle of the holidays 🤷‍♀️ If you need to take action when it comes to any part of your health, don’t wait until 2024 to make it happen 📆 Take action soon rather than later👍You, your family, friends and other loved ones will be thankful you did!!🥰

Here are three helpful tips for maintaining optimal breast health:

1. Familiarize yourself with your breasts: The key to keeping your breasts healthy is to know them well. Take the time to become acquainted with how they look and feel normally, as this will enable you to better detect any changes. Make it a habit to regularly perform a breast self-exam.

2. Be on the lookout for any changes: It's important to promptly consult a doctor if you notice any changes in your breasts, regardless of how minor they may seem. Keep an eye out for new lumps or bumps, discharge, alterations in breast size or shape, and changes in the texture of the skin on your breasts.

3. Schedule regular mammograms: Women who are 40 years of age or older are recommended to get yearly mammograms. If you have a family history of breast cancer, you may require earlier or more frequent screenings. Discuss with your doctor to determine the appropriate screening plan based on your personal risk factors.

Remember, taking proactive steps toward breast health is essential for your overall well-being!

The key is to be proactive in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and getting yearly mammograms. It's always a good idea to have a chat with your healthcare provider about your personal risk and to follow any screening and breast self-exam recommendations they might have for you.
