Now is the time to book your special night or weekend with Slick Rick, our mobile sauna unit.

How does it work? Just book a night, add any extras like wood or towels, and get ready to relax and recover with your group.

Slick Rick just needs a relatively flat area to be parked, in the Mount Washington Valley. Split level benches mean everyone can sauna together regardless of experience.

Steam right from the rocks, the crackle of the fire, the smell of the cedar benches. What else could you want?

Our first satellite location: Barn Door Hostel. I first chatted with Dave last year about the possibility of building him a sauna for the hostel. I loved what he had created and his story. Fast forward to this week: Bryce and I drove the newly renovated Big Boi down to its new location and fired it up.

Now when you stay with Barn Door you’ll have the option to add on a wood fired sauna session, right by their sick plunge spot. A hot addition to a cool place.

The sessions will be community style, an opportunity to meet and sweat with new people. And an easy way to connect with people without a phone (which is currently in front of your face too much)

This is a big announcement, but it isn’t the huge announcement. Live in North Conway and feel like you’ve been left out? Fear not, it’s coming…

Welcome to the team Bryce!

Bryce Harrison is joining the team as a co owner. He is a local entrepreneur, sauna and cold plunge aficionado and all around good dude. Bryce will be joining to help bring the business to the next phase.

Introducing the Wilkensauna.

Imagine you are driving home after a cold, rainy, spring day.

Waterlogged, frozen to bone, feeling like you may never warm all the way back up.

And then when you get home, this greets you.

Wifi controlled through an app, the Wilkensauna envelopes you in heat, steam, wood, and an insane view.

This build was done on the cheap using framing material in creative and selective ways. Some Japanese wood burning adds a protective and artful flair to the pine framing. The interior boasts white cedar for both the floor and benches, which provides a more pungent aroma than the traditional red cedar on the ceiling and back wall. And the Douglas Fir gives a touch elegance to the who build.

The 2025 build season is all full, but if you want a custom sauna for your home, get in touch to get on the 2026 build list. And the mobile sauna is available to rent throughout the Mount Washington Valley.

Hard to believe this was just a couple of weeks ago.

Today I worked outside without a shirt on, it felt like mid august, but without any leaves or bugs. I thought back to this plunge with good friends, and ice receding away from the beach. It was cold, proper cold.

Irony - "a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result"

I started this company 9 months ago to bring people together to sauna. I believe that gathering with loved ones, and meeting new people, is essential to human happiness and health. From research, we know that those who maintain close relationships are more likely to live a longer life, on average, than those that don't. In addition, I believe that saunas are wonderful for your health and happiness as well. Finland, the country that just ranked as the happiest again 8 years running, has more saunas per capita than anywhere else in the world, by a wide margin. They also happen to live a long time.

Together, the health benefits from sauna, and spending time with others in a sauna, is the cornerstone of Elemental Saunas. I want to connect people through sauna not just to experience the health benefits, but to share them with others. Through the mobile saunas and custom builds, I hope to bring people together, and to build a culture of sauna in the White Mountains.

The irony is that over the last 9 months, I have spent the majority of my time alone, freezing my fingers and my butt off. Early mornings sending emails, late nights working on the website, and long days building have left me to my own thoughts more than I care to admit, and they are not always pleasant. Building through the winter season meant that most of the time I couldn't feel my extremities.

But, for brief moments after I complete a project, I try and share the new build with friends and sauna lovers. These photos capture such a day.

I am so grateful to be working towards my dream of building a sauna culture here, where I live. And incredibly thankful to share that dream, and the journey of building it, with such a wonderful community.
