Tonight we took 8 students to HOSA Region 4 for competion. Congrats to all of our competitors. Special congratulations to our 2nd place EMT team. We had 1 team place in the top 7 in CERT skills, 2 teams place top 7 in EMT skills and 1 individual place top 7 in Veterinary Science. All 8 students will be headed to state competition in April.

Today is Bloodborne pathogens day. Students have been learning all about how blood borne pathogens work and how to stay safe in the work place. Today students learned how to don and dof Personal protective equipment. To add a little sport to it we added some chocolate and ketchup to represent the respective bodily fluids they may encounter.

Center line High school Ems, Fire and law enforcement programs are out and about joining some of our neighboring schools homecoming festivities. Lakeview High School sends us students every year for all of our programs. Tonight we say Go Huskies and celebrate their students.

The Center Line High School EMS classes would like to thank one of our partners, Star EMS for their gracious donation of EMS supplies. These supplies are no longer usable on their ambulances so rather than throw them away, they contacted Mr Watts to donate the supplies. The donations allow us to make these classroom more real during class time. Thank Star EMS for your continued support of our programs.

While it is summer and the kids are on break, it's a great time to get our learn on. This weekend you Center Line High School Fire and EMS instructors spent some time at a conference with instructors from around the country. It was a great time to share best practices and learn about the things other instructors do in there classrooms. There were several panels that discussed different topics but the one most personal to us was a former student panel which included one of our former students, Sakeenah Jaffri. She is currently working in the industry and going to school to become a doctor.

Y’ALL.

I am screaming. Congratulations to these two girls. Second place in the nation at the Skills USA EMT competition in Atlanta, Georgia. I wish I could take any type of credit for these girls, but I absolutely cannot. All I did was be the designated adult. Everything we ask of these girls over the last two years they have done. They continue to impress and make us proud. We need a stronger word than proud. 
It was our first year doing Skills USA and these two owned it.
Thank you to their families for raising such fantastic kids.
Thank you to my partner in crime Dave Watts for keeping this train on track. And thank you to Kelly from big Rapids for lending the girls a watch with a secondhand. 😁
I am so blessed to have found a second career that I love just as much as the first one. And these girls are the reason.

BIG NEWS OUT OF SKILLSUSA!!! Our EMT team of Lesniak and McCoy have taken 2nd place at their competition in Atlanta. Congratulations team and a big thank you to Mrs. Brooks for getting them there and being there with them this whole week.

We wouldn't want to forget about our Skills USA team. In addition to HOSA we have a Team in Atlanta competing in the Skills USA nationals. This team is currently competing in the EMT competition. They placed first in the State of Michigan entitling them the chance to compete nationally. We are overjoyed that our programs have these caliber students that can represent our High School and compete at a national level. Today is the big day for both HOSA and Skills USA as they compete in these competitions.
