Throw back to this fall when the twin deer born in our woods joined our herd through winter! 🦌🦌
They stayed safe while mama jumped the fence back and forth to feed. This buck and doe hung out with our sheep, goats, cows, and old horse all while the guardian dog Ralph, kept them safe from coyotes for months.
No, true LGD don't chase deer, the good ones naturally protect and these two knew it!

Tornado season, I mean baby goat season here! 🌪 🤣🐐 Thank goodness the newest waited to arrive this morning!

All doelings so far, so keep us in mind if you want to add some colorful goats to your homestead. (Traditional with dapples on her head photo missing) We don't jug any mommas, and they're self sufficient in pasture.

🐎Since Mondays are gloomy anyway and I can finally talk about it, I thought I'd share about the loss of my senior horse. I was a teenager when Frosty came into my life and I always promised to retire him. I never dreamed I would have my own farm for him to roam about and he was king of it. He taught many people to ride and didnt have a mean bone in his body. He won 2 buckles mounting shooting for me. I will alway miss my ol friend 😢

I could feel in my stomach something was wrong when he didn't come up for breakfast. I never thought my worst 80s childhood nightmare would happen. In the end, is was. I just wasnt there to pull him out.
