What a way to end the week. Cheryl Stevens, Carol Stevens, Colleen Buckenberg and Jan Hult offered golf cart rides today!!! Everyone enjoyed them. At 3 we had apple pie and ice cream and ended with apple baseball.

This afternoon we had a back to school party with Deb and Roxanne. We sang, covered a lot of the subjects and even had show and tell! We the recognized some of the teachers!!! At coffee we had a school sack lunch and ended with Jo reading to us. Then for supper, some residents went to Tuffys Bar and Grill and took an evening drive around town. Even some family members came to join us!

What a fun day!!!! This morning Chief of Police Lon came in for coffee and apple tarts. Scandia hosted their monthly potluck today!! Always so good! A BIG thank you to Pat Miller, resident Marge Millers son, for driving the residents around in his 1956 Farmall tractor today. Everyone just loved it!!! We then had coffee out on the patio and ended with residents and family voting for the staff salsa contest!!! We will announce the winner tomorrow on Facebook!!

This morning we had some noodle fun at exercise. For morning coffee, we served Apple Cookies that Kristen had made! After bingo, we served Apple Crisp Ice Cream. Jordan then went around with the bingo store cart and we ended with making baked apples for those who wanted.

Today at lunch we enjoyed Claudia’s spotlight meal, enchiladas!! We also served chocolate cake for Darla’s birthday. After lunch, Janet Reid sang for us and also brought CiCi her little puppy in. At 3pm, Darla’s family brought in cupcakes for coffee and then Emma reminisced. During supper tonight, Tri Valley Men’s Chorus came to sing for us!!

Today we held our annual Family Picnic. We had hotdogs along with all the fixings and ice cream treats. Yard games for families and kids to play along with music by the Back Porch Pickers. Minus the WIND…. it was a very fun evening!!!! A special thank you to all the families who stepped up to help with moving the band equipment, help serve food and help other residents with their needs. Not only do we have wonderful residents but we have such awesome resident family members!!!
We also set up for the last time the staff cutest pet contest. We raised $116 tonight. Overall $180 to go towards a purchase of a van for CCRC. The cutest pet with the most money earned all summer long was Barb Hartwick’s dog Roxy!! She got a little gift of dog treats from Tail Chasers, resident Lois Larsons granddaughter Darci’s pet treat company!!!
Before the picnic, some residents made floral arrangements for the picnic and then played bean bags.
THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF WHO HELPED TONIGHT, FAMILIES WHO CAME TO CELEBRATE WITH THEIR LOVED ONES AND HELPED with the event!
