What a Friday!!!! The CHS kids came over and helped with TONS of different projects today!!! Thank you to each and every one of them!!! We then played indoor frisbee golf with Jackson from AseraCare. Then we enjoyed happy hour outside and ended with Bible Study with Joyce.

We finally made it to the National Music Museum in Vermillion today! Oh the fun we had. When we got back we bowled and after supper we played pokeno.

Let’s all wish Peggy Bhatara a very happy 74th birthday today!!!! We hope your day is as special as you are. The kitchen made her chocolate cake that we served at lunch today. Happy Birthday Peggy!!!!

Today we listened to the fun music by Wayne Lee. He played keyboard, guitar and even had some costumes. Right when he was done, Kristen and Emma took Ruth, Claudia, Darla and Deb shopping at Dollar General in Beresford. While they were shopping, residents at home enjoyed the funny stories from Chicken Soup for the Soul: My Crazy Family book in honor of Chicken Soup for the Soul day.

Happy Veterans Day from CCRC!!! We honored our resident and local Vets with a meatloaf dinner today. Pastor Dan Davey from Komstad lead us in prayer for our meal and for our Veterans. After lunch, the 5th grade class came over to help with the program! We started with the Pledge of Allegiance then Anna Shubeck sang the Star Bangled Banner. Some kids read us a poem while others sang a cute song called Thankful for the USA. We then recognized each Veteran with a certificate and corsage. Scott Olson then presented Ron Carlson with a special award for being part of the legion for 50 years. We ended with everyone singing God Bless America. Ron Carlson also won the Centerville drawing. Thank you for everyone who purchased a raffle ticket. We raised around $250 for the American Legion. For the rest of the afternoon we played bingo and had the bingo store open. Then Marilyn Andersons sister Barb brought Marilyn’s dog Mandy for everyone to pet. After supper, Laura Jensen and Ryan Clay sang for us.

Thank you to everyone who brought in supplies to be given to the Centerville School. We delievered the items today! We listened to the beautiful music by Janet Ries and then enjoyed a taste and smell of fall tea party. After the tea party we got the instruments out and did some rhythm band and sang. Residents also helped stuff envelopes with invitation in them for our family Christmas party coming up!

CCRC Month of Giving

Get your raffle tickets bought up tomorrow at 1 pm to support the American Legion. Drawing of the winner of the Centerville Gift basket will be at 1 pm during the Veterans Day Program.

For week 3, we will be collecting hygiene products for the Centerville Rotary Food Bank. Place your donations by the tree in the dining room.

Week 2 of CCRCs Month of Giving continues with us supporting our local vets! All proceeds will go to the Centerville American Legion. We are selling raffle tickets for a Centerville gift basket. $5 for 1 ticket and $20 for 5. Thank you to these local businesses and their donations
Tuffys Bar and Grill -$50 gift card
The Seed Coffeehouse and Eatery- $20 gift card
Zebra King Donuts- gift card for a dozen donuts
Total Stop -$50 gift card
Chic Boutique and Company- a Centerville sign!
Drawing will be at the Veterans Day Luncheon Tuesday, November 11th. You don’t need to be present to win.

Everyone’s to do list this week!

1. Come to CCRC to drop off Kleenex boxes, Clorox wipes and hand sanitizers for the Centerville School. The drop off is in the dining room by the tree.

2. Purchase raffle tickets for a Centerville gift basket. Purchase up to Tuesday, November 11th for the Veterans Luncheon. All proceeds will be given to the Centerville American Legion. The attached picture are the items for the drawing.

3. Purchase raffle tickets for a $250 Scheels gift card. $5- 1 ticket. $10- 3 tickets. Drawing will be on Thursday, December 18th for Family Christmas Party. All proceeds will go towards a handicapped accessible bus for the facility.
