New research reveals the appendix isn't useless; it stores beneficial bacteria, contains more neurons than the spinal cord, and independently coordinates immunity. Removal may weaken gut-brain communication and microbiome resilience.

Struggling with Hashimoto’s? Food Enzyme Therapy can support your healing journey.

Many with Hashimoto’s suffer from chronic fatigue, bloating, and brain fog. Diet alone often isn’t enough to ease discomfort. Here’s how targeted food enzymes help restore balance:

1. Supports Thyroid Conversion
Enzymes help improve liver and gut function. These are the two key players in converting inactive T4 into active T3.

2. Reduces Inflammation
By aiding complete digestion, enzymes lower undigested food particles that trigger autoimmune flare-ups.

3. Eases Digestive Distress
Hashimoto’s often comes with sluggish digestion. Enzymes help break down proteins, fats, and carbs, reducing bloating and constipation.

4. Boosts Nutrient Absorption
People with Hashimoto’s are often deficient in selenium, zinc, B12, and iron. Enzymes help unlock these nutrients for better absorption.

5. Enhances Gut Health
Since 70%+ of your immune system lives in the gut, enzyme therapy helps restore microbiome balance, key for calming autoimmune reactions.

At Better Days Center, we use targeted enzyme therapy to bring relief, clarity, and energy back to our clients’ lives.

Ready to explore a natural, effective way to support your thyroid and gut? Let’s talk.

5 Lies That Damage Your Emotional Health (And what to do when they creep into your head)

1-“I’m not enough.”
Truth: You are inherently valuable, your worth isn’t defined by productivity or perfection.

Affirmation: “I am growing, and that is enough.”

2-“I have to do it all alone.”
Truth: Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

Try this: Reach out. Community heals.

3-“If I ignore it, it’ll go away.”
Truth: Suppressed emotions grow louder over time.

Tip: Acknowledge your feelings—your body and mind will thank you.

4-“I shouldn’t feel this way.”
Truth: All emotions are valid signals, not moral failures.

Practice: Let yourself feel without judgment.

5-“I’ll never change.”
Truth: Healing is possible, your past doesn’t define your future.

Encouragement: Transformation begins with one brave step.

At Better Days Center, we help you replace lies with truth, emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

You don’t have to carry the weight alone.

Healing starts here.

MEN! We could all use a refresher on solid ways to make our relationships stronger. Even the best of us slip up and over time that slide can really begin to weigh down the connection with the women who mean the most to us.

These suggestions may sound simple, but ask yourself if you are really doing these 11 things consistently and if not, why not?

1-Listen first, fix later
Often, she just wants to be heard, not to have every problem solved. Listen to understand, not respond.

2-Say “thank you” daily
Genuine appreciation trumps grand gestures.

3-Honor small talk
It’s the thread that weaves emotional connection.

4-Make space for each other
Independence fuels a stronger bond.

5-Accept different thinking styles
Talk vs. silent reflection, they’re both valid.

6-Prioritize emotional intimacy
Stop saying “I’m fine” and be vulnerable, invite connection.

7-Use “mmmhmm” and “I hear you”
Verbal cues show you’re truly present.

8-Choose understanding over winning
Arguments aren’t battles; they’re opportunities to reinforce shared goals & values. No-one wins if someone loses. A shared resolution is the only true victory.

9-Keep dating your partner
Little moments matter: a walk, a note, a shared coffee.

10-Make her feel emotionally safe
No sarcasm. No belittling. Just trust through intentional & positive engagement.

11-Support her journey
Your encouragement helps her bloom and so does your relationship.

These aren’t overnight changes, they’re daily habits rooted in patience, curiosity & growth. And you don’t need 40 years to start; you can begin today!

Looking to build stronger connections? We’d love to work with you and your spouse or partner to help you create the bonds you envision. Send us a PM or reach out through our website at www.visitbetterdayscenter.com

A message from Dear Beardy:

As many of you know, I’m stepping into a new role as the “Heart of a Warrior” class instructor at Chess Christian School, and I’m incredibly honored to serve in this new capacity. But I want to reassure my amazing clients and community that I will continue my work as an Emotional Polarity Technique (EPT) Practitioner and Digestive Enzyme Specialist at Better Days Center!

Helping individuals heal emotionally and physically through EPT and digestive care remains a deep passion of mine and that mission doesn’t stop here. I will continue seeing clients, providing support, and walking with you on your journey to better health and wholeness.

If you’re a current client or thinking about starting your healing journey with us at Better Days Center, I’m still here for you, “soldiering on,” fully committed and just as passionate as ever.

Feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule an appointment. Healing doesn’t take a back seat.

Let’s keep moving forward—body, mind, and spirit.

Best health,
Nick

Feeling Stressed? Think about adding a canine to your family!

Dogs don’t just warm your feet, they heal your heart.
Here’s how our four-legged friends boost emotional health:

Unconditional Love – Dogs accept you exactly as you are, which helps reduce shame and loneliness.

Reduced Anxiety – Petting a dog has been shown to lower cortisol (stress hormone) and raise oxytocin (the bonding hormone).

Built-in Movement – Daily walks = daily mental resets.

Less Isolation – Dogs help spark social interactions and emotional connection.

Purpose & Routine – Caring for a dog gives structure, responsibility, and meaning.

At Better Days Center, we believe healing happens in connection and sometimes, that connection has paws and a tail 🐶

Tag a dog lover or share your pup’s picture & name below!

Is Forgiveness a Sign of Weakness?

When we tell people we do “forgiveness work,” we can get some pretty strange looks. It’s common to think forgiveness is an option, not a necessity for positive emotional health.

Many believe forgiving means letting others walk all over you or that it condones bad behavior. That’s a misunderstanding of what forgiveness really is.

Forgiveness and justice are not enemies. You can forgive someone and still set boundaries, ask for fairness, and uphold accountability.

If your boss, your mother, or your spouse keeps demeaning you, forgiveness helps reduce the anger poisoning your heart but justice may mean calmly asking for more respectful treatment.

Forgiveness:
“Does not mean allowing abuse”
“Does not excuse harmful behavior”
“Does not lower your self-esteem”
“Does not replace legal justice”

In fact, science shows forgiveness actually boosts your self-worth, frees you from resentment, and helps you reclaim your peace.

It’s not about being “nice,”it’s about being free.

At Better Days Center, we believe forgiveness isn’t weakness, it’s courage in action. Healing begins when you let go of what holds you back.

🇺🇸✨ Happy 4th of July from Better Days Center!
There’s something about the 4th that brings it all rushing back.
The smell of the grill, sticky popsicle fingers, chasing fireflies,
and the thrill of staying up way past bedtime just to see the sky light up.

Today, I’m feeling extra grateful for those memories.
For the moments that felt simple, safe, and magical.
And for the way those little joys still live in us, even now.

Freedom looks different as we get older.
It’s not just sparklers and parades, it’s peace in our hearts,
rest in our minds, and love that lasts longer than the fireworks.

Whether you're making new memories today or soaking in the old ones,
I hope this day wraps around you like a warm summer night.
Joyful. Grateful. Free.

🎆 With love,
From my heart (and childhood) to yours,
— The Better Days Team
