Marvin Earl Mills

Marvin Earl Mills, a man whose life was as vast and rugged as the Texas landscape he called home, passed away on May 6, 2026, at Lake Limestone, Texas. Born on July 16, 1938, in the humble surroundings of Duckhill, Mississippi, Marvin's journey was one forged by hard work, passion, and an enduring love for the land and animals he so dearly cherished.

At the tender age of thirteen, Marvin left the familiar woods of Mississippi and ventured to Katy, Texas, a move that marked the beginning of a deeply rooted Texan legacy. Early in his life, he found his skill and strength at the welding torch, shaping metal with the same care and precision that would later define his relationship with horses and cattle. But it was ranching and horse training that captured his soul and devotion for the many years that followed, embedding him into the community and culture of the Lone Star State.

In 1982, Marvin met and married his former wife, forming a bond that led them to Buffalo, Texas, where they built a home and nurtured a family. Marvin’s steadfast companion was his border collie, Jay, whose sharp eyes and loyal spirit helped him both in hunting and as a cattle dog—an indispensable partner on countless adventures.

Marvin’s passions extended far beyond the ranch. He was a hunter who pursued all manner of game with respect and skill, a rodeo enthusiast captivated by the thrilling art of calf roping, and a fisherman who knew the solace of patience beside quiet waters. These pursuits were not merely hobbies but expressions of a life lived connected to the earth and its rhythms.

Marvin is survived by his sons Dennis Mills (Kim Moyer) and Eddie Mills, who carry forward his legacy. His siblings, Florine Hines, Maxine McCorkle, Peggy Sullivan, and Pam Self, continue to remember the brother whose presence was both steadfast and warm. His beloved brother Thomas "Punk" Mills remains among those who cherish his memory. His grandchildren Trent and Justin, along with great-grandchildren Kelcie, Landon, and Layla, all bear the echoes of his enduring spirit.

Marvin’s life was also shaped by profound loss. He joined in eternity with his parents Mack Mills and Estelle (Sims) Mills; his son, Richie Mills; grandson, Darren Mills; and brothers Billy, Neal, Leroy, Doug, and Jimmy Ray, whose memories remind us of the full tapestry of his life.

A visitation celebrating Marvin’s life will be held on May 15, 2026, from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M., followed immediately by a memorial service at 2 P.M., at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas. Speakers will include Rick Davis, Ray Grissett, and Keith McCorkle. Friends, family, and all who knew Marvin are invited to gather in remembrance and honor a soul whose life was a testament to dedication and the enduring call of the wild.

Marvin Earl Mills leaves behind the scent of leather and horsehair, the sound of whistle and hooves, and the imprint of a life fiercely lived in harmony with the land. His story is etched in sunsets over sprawling plains, in the quiet companionship of a border collie named Jay, and in a family’s collective memory—a story that will echo through Texas long after the last trail ride has faded into dusk.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas -- A Walters Family Funeral Home.

Ronald William Carmichael

Ronald William Carmichael, known fondly as Ron, passed away on May 7, 2026, in Palestine, Texas. Born on April 8, 1954, in Port Heron, Michigan, Ron’s journey led him nearly fifty years ago to Texas, where he embraced a career that would define much of his life. He first arrived to work on building the local power plant and ultimately retired as a Maintenance Supervisor for Montana Power. Even after retirement, his spirit of dedication and hard work shone brightly as he devoted his time to tending his cattle—an expression of his love for simple, hands-on living.

Ron was known to those close to him as dependable in every sense of the word. The nickname “Snoz,” affectionately given by his coworkers due to his prominent nose, reflected a camaraderie and warmth that only those who truly knew him could appreciate. A man of distinctive character, Ron communicated in a unique language all his own—a private thread among a select few that spoke volumes about his individuality and charm. His joy often found its way to Anthony's Restaurant, where he savored visiting with his buddies, sharing stories and laughter.

Above all else, Ron was a proud and loving father. Though his children were not his by biology, he loved them fiercely and embraced the role of fatherhood with open arms and a devoted heart. His happiness was deeply rooted in his family life, alongside his beloved wife, Margo. The two were married on December 5, 1996, and were on the brink of celebrating thirty years of marriage this year—a testament to the enduring partnership and love they shared. Alongside Margo and his loyal dog, June, Ron found true companionship, drawing strength and joy from both.

Ron’s talents extended beyond his work and family; he was a master mechanic, with a remarkable aptitude for heavy equipment repair. This skill not only defined his professional life but also spoke to his keen mind and steady hands—traits that earned him respect and admiration from those who worked alongside him.

Those left to cherish Ron’s memory include his beloved wife, Margo Carmichael of Flo; children, Keith North (Mae) of Garland, Stacy Humes (significant other, David Ross) of Nashville, Tennessee, Jody North (Janel Tedesco) of Madisonville, Louisiana, and Marlo Corbitt (John) of Buffalo. He is also survived by his cherished sisters, Lynn Nihls of Jacksonville, Florida, and Bette Hellmuth (Bruce) of Ruby, Michigan. Ron’s legacy continues through his grandchildren Sicily, Madison, Jordon, Angela, JJ, Brock, Ascher, Ayden, and Alivia, as well as his great-grandchildren Zoey, Easton, and Preslee, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends who will dearly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Leona Carmichael, father, Raymond Carmichael, and siblings, Robert Carmichael, Andrew Pickelhaupt, Susan Madden, Dawn Dougoud, and Jyll Carmichael.

Ron's warmth, uniqueness, and unwavering reliability have left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. His love, humor, and steadfastness were the pillars of a life well-lived—a life that will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by family and friends alike.

Ron’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Christus Hospital, Palestine; Christus Mother Frances, Tyler; and Christus Hospice, Palestine, for the exemplary care given during his stay and the profound comfort in knowing he was so compassionately cared for.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, located at 249 Humphreys Road, Buffalo, Texas 75831. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, beginning at 1 P.M., also at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow in Parker Cemetery. William Grady Wilson

William "Billy" Grady Wilson, Jr. entered peacefully into the arms of Jesus on April 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to WG "Bill" Wilson, Sr. and Elizabeth Kathleen (Prickett) Wilson on May 10, 1939, in Jacksonville, Alabama.

Billy was saved at the age of nine and realized how important God was in all aspects of his life. He gave God the glory for his family, his marriage, Christian teachers, and the life with which he was blessed. The Wilson family moved to Houston after WW2 and to the Willowhole Community in 1953. The farm was sold in 1957 when the family moved to Madisonville. This is also the year that Billy graduated from Madisonville High School. One of his fondest memories of high school was being elected FFA President for three years. He loved anything agricultural!

After high school, Billy attended Texas A&M University for two years and then Sam Houston State University for two years, where he graduated in 1961. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. While attending college, Billy married the "love of his life,” Charlotte Mosley. They met when they were only fourteen and fifteen and dated through high school. In their sixty-seven years of marriage, they had many adventures and showed an example of a Christian marriage. After graduating college, Billy went to work for TXDOT. In 1964, he and Charlotte built their home on Hwy 21 where they lived their married life and raised their children. Billy and his dad soon began working together in construction and then opened WG Wilson and Son Tractors selling tractors and farm equipment. After ten years, the company closed due to his dad's health. One of Billy’s favorite jobs was working at Madison St Joseph Health Center, starting in 1994 as Plant Operations Manager.

Besides working, Billy was constantly involved in the community. He served as Director for the Chamber of Commerce, President and Vice President of the Lions Club, and Charter member and President of the Madison County Fair where he was later honored for his service. He also served as Madisonville Sidewalk Cattleman’s Association President, Houston Livestock Show Ambassador, Texas Farm Bureau Policy Board, President of Madisonvillle's Young Farmers, State Vice-President, Secretary, and Reporter, three terms as Pct 1 Commissioner, and was selected by the governor to be on the Brazos Valley Developmental Council. There were so many more organizations he served.

Billy was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Madisonville where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Royal Ambassador leader, and any other role as needed. In his last months, one of the things he dreaded most was missing church due to illness. He wanted to be with his church family whom he loved (and who loved him) so dearly.

If you ever met Billy Wilson, you knew him. He never met a stranger and found the good in everyone he met. He truly loved like Jesus! He wanted to see people smile, laugh, and be happy. He could tell stories and jokes that could accomplish those things and leave you wanting to hear more.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Kathleen Wilson, his daughter, Cheryl Leigh Wilson, who died at the age of nine from an illness, and brother-in-law Bob Webb.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beautiful wife, Charlotte Wilson; daughters, Lori Wilson and Karen Wilson Pine (Bill); sisters, Carolyn Wilson and Susan Wilson Mayrant (Gary); grandchildren, Zach Wilson, Max Wilson, Isaac Wilson, Christian Wilson, Jacob Pine, Katie Pine, Martina Munoz and Kristalyn Brambley; great-grandchild, Cade Wilson; sister-In-law, Linda Webb; niece, Jennifer Mayrant Berry (Andy); nephews, Kirk Webb (Stacey) and Keith Webb and great-nieces, Maggie Webb Gariepy (Levi), and Emmy Webb Crenshaw (Andrew). Also left to miss Billy is his faithful dog, Bailey. She loved him loyally as he did her.

A funeral service to remember Billy, officiated by Matt Carey, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Madisonville, Texas. Visitation will begin one hour before the service at 12 P.M. followed by burial in the Willowhole Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Zach Wilson, Max Wilson, Isaac Wilson, Christian Wilson, Jacob Pine, Bill Pine, Casey Rawlinson

Honorary pallbearers: Gary Lindsey, Nathan Ladd, Shane Spangler, and Deacons of First Baptist Church Madisonville with special recognition to Chuck Heath, Colvin Walker, and Gary Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Madison County Fair Association, PO Box 1151, Madisonville, Texas, 77864 or First Baptist Church of Madisonville, PO Box 159, Madisonville, Texas, 77864.

Final arrangements for William "Billy" Wilson are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.

Krystal Zaria Pfleiderer

Krystal Zaria (Uhlman) Pfleiderer, 39, made her glorious entrance into the world on October 14, 1986, in Tucson, Arizona, to the delight of her parents, Christopher Uhlman and Gayla Gean, and passed away on April 28, 2026, in Madisonville, Texas. She was full of life and had a beautiful impact on the lives of people that will not soon be forgotten.

Krystal was a joy to be around as she made every effort to be present with friends and family. She was very creative and had many passions, but a couple standouts were crafting and gardening and she always looked forward to the holidays. Her favorite flower was the stargazer lily and orange was her color of choice, so no surprise, she was a Texas Longhorn fan. Krystal also enjoyed singing and was gifted with a beautiful voice that blessed those within hearing distance. Animals were another important part of Krystal’s life, especially her dogs and cats. She was always eager to spend time on her little farm with her chickens, goats and her pigs, Fred and Wilma.

Krystal was a dedicated employee at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice where she made a great contribution to the human resources team. She studied at Brigham Young University in Idaho where she received her associate’s degree in early childhood development and was working towards her associate’s degree in business management. Krystal persevered gracefully through the challenges of life and always wore a contagious smile. She was patient and nurturing, both of which were easily observed in how she cared for children while teaching them in Sunday school and headstart, as she helped shape the lives of future generations.

It goes without saying that Krystal loved her family, including her countless nieces and nephews. She loved being an aunt and valued every moment with them. However, her greatest joy in life was being a mom to her beautiful children and a faithful wife to her husband Jason, who she absolutely adored. They were married on April 17, 2010, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Madisonville, Texas and have navigated each day with cherished commitment to one another. Hauling her kids to all their extracurricular activities and football games was another expression of her love and devotion. Krystal’s life was characterized by loving sacrifice and service to others. She will be remembered with great fondness as one who poured her heart into those around her.

Krystal is preceded in death by her grandfather, Joseph Uhlman and nephew, Mason Krejci.

Those left to cherish Krystal’s memory are her husband, Jason Pfleiderer; children, Jaxson and Natalee Pfleiderer; parents, Christopher Uhlman and Gayla Gean (Benjamin); step-mother, Mitzi Mitchem; six brothers, Gabriel Uhlman, Leon Uhlman, Samuel Uhlman (Christian), Isaac Uhlman, Austin Martin and Seth Strenge; three sisters, Alexandria Uhlman, Jessica Strenge and Katelin Lawson as well as numerous treasured nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

A funeral service to remember Krystal, under the direction of President Mike Reynolds, will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Madisonville, Texas on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 1:30 P.M. Visitation will take place one hour before the service at 12:30 P.M. Burial will follow in the Jozye Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Juan Torres, Jeffrey Warren, Abdiel Marroquin, Timothy Jacoby, Christopher Heimbuck, Roderick Brown, Jeremy Hunt

Final arrangements for Krystal Zaria Pfleiderer are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
