Extensive Testing
We do a full blood panel that includes not only free and total testosterone but also both estrogens: estradiol and estrone. Our goal is to optimize these hormone levels as well as to design treatment strategies to maximize the optimal ratio between testosterone and estrogen. In other words, our goal is to raise testosterone levels and lower estrogen levels.
We also do an extensive cardiovascular panel that looks at particle size and quantity of the arthrosclerotic and stroke and heart attack causing LDL particles. We identify meaningful risk factors related to the likelihood of having a cardiovascular event and we design customized strategies to lower these risk factors.
We are also looking at metabolic risk factors to early identify insulin resistance and pre-diabetes. Again, we strategize to lower these risk factors to decrease your risk of developing these issues and other blood sugar related diseases.
While on testosterone therapy, we are continually monitoring testosterone levels, estrogen levels, PSA levels and red blood cell thickening, which is an independent risk factor for a cardiovascular event.
Our labs are covered under most insurances and we have an onsite phlebotomist at our IHC & Pharmacy who can draw your blood and take care of the billing. Most of our guys will have initial blood-work, follow up labs in 8 weeks and every six months thereafter.
Additional Testing
Our IHC for Men’s Health Center also offers additional testing for a more Integrative approach to your health:
-DUTCH dried urine strip testing is a take -home test available that will measure not only hormone levels, but also hormone metabolizing patterns. This measures to see if you are properly breaking down estrogen levels which can be predictive of prostrate cancer risk. This DUTCH test also measures cortisol levels and cortisol patterns to determine overall stress levels. Finally, this cutting edge testing measures neurotransmitter deficiencies and potential B12, B6 and glutathione deficiencies. Cost of this test is $350.
Neutrigenomics Testing is a take-home test where you swab the inside of your cheek, similar to other testing such as Ancestry.com or “23 and Me.” This is a test that looks at 55 different genes related to methylation, detoxification, inflammation, energy production and autophogy (The body’s ability to clear out cellular debris and repair.) The cost of this test is $450 and includes an hour long consult to review the genetic defects and develop a personalized nutritional supplement program to overcome these defects. Because genetic issues play such a huge role in the development and progression of chronic illnesses and cancer, this testing is true personalized and proactive health care.
Thyroid Testing. Thyroid health is a complex and challenging health issue. Rather than just doing the basic tsh and t4 testimg, we test 10 different blood markers related to thyroid function. Our goal is to optimize these levels for best thyroid function. Once on therapy, we have a functional test using our Thyroflex machine that measures speed of reflexes at the tissue level of cells. This can help determine optimal thyroid dose. Our onsite phlebotomist can draw your blood for this test and take care of billing.
Ivy Test. This test can identify circulating tumor cells at the earliest stages of cancer BEFORE it can be detected by conventional imaging. Cost of this test is $799 and includes the consultation to go over the results and discuss strategies. This cutting edge testing can now identify early markers for 4 types of cancer:

PEPTIDE THERAPY
One of the newest and most exciting developments in medicine today is peptide therapies. There are over 60 peptides that have been identified that have significant therapeutic effect, with 10 to 20 new ones being developed annually. We have developed an expertise in some of the major peptide therapies related to men’s health. At our IHC for Men, we use the peptides that increase growth hormone release, stimulate muscle development, increase lean muscle and decrease body fat percentage. We also use peptides that improve testosterone response, can increase hair growth and also improve libido. We also use peptide therapy to improve healing time for injuries. Cost of the peptide therapies vary between $40-$60 a week.
Medically Managed Weight Loss
Using the Ideal Protein Program, HCG Therapy, weekly Lipo B injections and strategic supplementation, we structure a program to help you lose on average 4 pounds a week, yet maintain or even increase lean muscle. This program involves weekly check-ins. Cost of the Ideal Protein is $100 a week with the cost of the Lipo B shot $25 a week.
ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION/LIBIDO
In addition to managing testosterone and hormone balance, we provide compounded medications that can improve er****on frequency and strength. Using these compounded products allows us to be significantly less expensive than commercially available ED medications. Because of their delivery system, they tend to have a quicker onset of action. The cost of these compounded therapies is typically $30-$60 a month. In addition, we also offer Trimix injections that are delivered to your door at an average cost of $120 a vial. Depending on usage, a vial can last several weeks to several months. Finally, there are several peptide therapies we use for erectile dysfunction and libido.
WHAT IT COSTS & WHAT YOU GET
Our IHC for Men requires NO sign-up fees or initiation fees. We do have a monthly membership fee of $139. This membership fee includes access to Dr Guehl and management of testosterone therapies, along with ALL office visits. Expect at least 3-4 office visits per year.
