Today’s Wednesday Win Moment is dedicated to introducing the newest member of our Medical Staff Team at Merrick.
Please join us in welcoming Rhianna Becker, PA-C.

Rhianna hails from Lincoln, NE, and earned her bachelor’s degrees in biology and French from Nebraska Wesleyan University. She then pursued her studies at UNMC, completing the Physician Assistant program and obtaining her certification in December 2025. Prior to this, she worked as a phlebotomist at the Nebraska Community Blood Bank.

Rhianna has a passion for traveling and music, and she has been captivated by the landscapes and culture of France, visiting numerous times. She enjoys hiking and is excited about exploring the trails and adventures that Central Nebraska has to offer.

Rhianna values personal connections and cherishes quality time spent with family and friends. As a strong advocate for her patients in the community, she is enthusiastic about building relationships with her patients in both Central City and Fullerton. She is particularly passionate about preventative care, early screenings, and actively engaging patients in their care plans. She will begin seeing patients in the Central City and Fullerton clinics this spring.

We had the pleasure of highlighting the opportunities available to students at Merrick Medical Center at the UNK Hospital Partners networking event in Kearney today. We connected with students in central Nebraska about the importance of maintaining local healthcare and the opportunities in rural Nebraska. We will be hosting 30 of these students in April for a hands-on learning tour of rural medicine at Merrick. We love connecting with future generations of health science studies & professions.

Today was a special day in the lab as the team began using the new chemistry analyzer Atellica CI 1900. This new analyzer promotes consistency in testing methodologies, reference ranges, quality control practices, and result reporting while improving analytical performance and expanding testing capabilities. We will be bringing new assays, including Vitamin D, in-house, which allows for faster turnaround times, improving workflow, and providing better service to providers and patients in our community.

These efforts strengthen our mission to provide reliable, high-quality care while continuing to support the health and well-being of our community.

Recently, we welcomed students from the Bryan College of Health Sciences Hastings campus to shadow our inpatient nursing team. We are thrilled to support students on their educational journey into medical professional fields.
