I have such a privilege to bear witness to the journey to motherhood. The journey to motherhood is rarely easy and often includes fertility challenges, loss, pain, grief, and overcoming. My favorite moment in birth is when a mother says I can’t… and then she does.

Tonight, I had the privilege to watch a young Doula navigate this journey with a mother to be and not only did I see the mother to be show incredible strength, but I also saw a young man support and love his wife ignoring his own needs to support her. As their journey continued, I got to bear witness to a young Doula growing, finding her own inner strength in a difficult birth. She will bear whiteness to life’s most precious moments this morning and will be stronger, wiser, and more compassionate because of this family.

To each family navigating this journey remember every journey is unique and different. It’s not a failure to go down a different path than you had planned. Each life is precious. Thank you for inviting OBGYN‘s, nurses, doulas‘s and midwives to be a part of your journey.
