Are you drinking bottled water still? If so consider switching to filtered tap water. a simple water pitcher with a filter such as PUR or Britta can do an excellent job filtering out contaminants. Switching from bottled water to water filtered at home is one of the most impactful steps you can make to live a healthy life while saving money and lessening your carbon footprint. While there are many different options for at-home filters, they all work to remove or reduce contaminants from your water. Also, consider giving up those plastic cups and switching to glass or metal. Plastic leaches chemicals into the water you are drinking. When you are drinking bottled water you never know what you are getting and the water is stored in plastic for who knows how long and at what temperature. The higher the temperature of the bottle the more chemicals are leaching into the water. Just think of all the plastic you will be keeping out of the landfills!

Holistic nutrition is a personalized approach to eating that considers an individual's lifestyle, environment, and unique needs. It focuses on eating for health and emphasizes whole, unprocessed foods that are nutrient-dense. These foods include:
Fresh, preferably organic fruits and vegetables.
Whole grains.
Unprocessed meats, Lean proteins, pasture-raised, and grass-fed are preferred, just focus on the highest quality you can afford.
Wild caught cold-water fish.
Healthy fats include olive oil, avocado oil, butter, and coconut oil.
Eggs pasture-raised.
Nuts and seeds and booster foods.
The goal of holistic nutrition is to support and optimize the body's innate healing abilities, promoting wellness and preventing disease. I will be focusing on these in future posts.
