Grief can feel isolating, but connection has a way of bringing light into even the hardest seasons. 💜

Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting three women who first connected through our Loss of Spouse & Partner Support Group. What began as shared experiences and understanding grew into meaningful friendship and support for one another through grief.

“We actually just got dinner together the other night,” one shared.

Through shared stories, support, and understanding, they found lasting friendship in one another; a beautiful reminder that no one has to navigate grief alone.

Our next Loss of Spouse & Partner Support Group is coming up soon, and we welcome anyone looking for connection, comfort, and support on their grief journey.

✨ Camp New Dawn Volunteer Spotlight

Meet Skyelar Scott! 💙

Skyelar has been a Camp New Dawn volunteer for as long as she can remember. She shares that she is incredibly grateful to her Aunt Rhonda, who welcomed her at camp all those years ago when she would just “show up” 😂

“I would not be who I am today without this program, and I will never stop being a part of it. After all, ‘we are all just walking each other home,’” Skyelar says.

Camp New Dawn is more than a camp; it’s a family, a place of healing, connection, and lifelong impact for children and volunteers alike. Thank you, Skyelar, for continuing to give your heart to this special program year after year.

Our volunteers continue to do amazing things in our community! 💜

Recently, volunteer Linda Bounds had the thoughtful idea to donate the beautifully decorated Derby hats she created for sale at Compass Closet that had not yet sold to a local nursing home. The staff who accepted the donation were overwhelmed with gratitude, sharing that they love giving special gifts to the women there for Mother’s Day and that the hats would be absolutely perfect.

This is just one example of the many ways Compass and Compass Closet continue to make a meaningful impact throughout our community through kindness, compassion, and generosity.
