🔔 From Advocacy to Action. February 19 marks the anniversary of Mental Health America’s founding. A reminder that real change begins when someone speaks up.

The Mental Health Bell symbolizes freedom, hope, and the ongoing work to improve mental health care for all. It calls us to keep moving forward. To keep educating. To keep advocating.

💙 Mental health is health. And everyone deserves access to support. Join us in continuing the mission.

Calling All Local Photographers!📸

We're inviting all local residents and our Pivotal employees to share their own stunning, high-quality photographs taken around St. Joseph County for potential display in our Pivotal offices!

The Project: Local Art for Our Walls
The goal is to showcase the beauty and community of our county—from picturesque landscapes and local landmarks to captivating nature shots—as captured through your eyes. Selected photos will be professionally printed, framed, and prominently displayed in the common areas of our three locations, creating a warmer, more personalized, and local environment.

Submission Guidelines
If you have a photo you'd like to submit, please ensure it meets the following criteria:

Location: The photo must have been taken within St. Joseph County, Michigan.
Quality/Resolution: This is the most critical requirement. The photo must be of a very high resolution and quality to be enlarged cleanly up to a 30" x 40" print. Generally, this means an original file size of at least 8-10 megapixels or higher, and taken with a good quality camera (DSLR, mirrorless, or a very recent, high-end smartphone camera). If you are unsure, submit the largest file you have, and we can check the resolution.
Content: Please submit photos that are appropriate for a professional behavioral health organization setting. We are looking for scenic, architectural, or nature shots (avoiding identifiable people, copyrighted images, or personal/family photos).

How to Submit
Please email your photo file(s) to general@pivotalstjoe.org by 02/27/2026.

In your email, please include:
Your Name
A short title for the photo (e.g., "Fall Sunrise over the St. Joe River")
The approximate location where the photo was taken (e.g., "Mendon, MI")

*By submitting a photo, you are giving Pivotal permission to print, frame, and display the image in Pivotal facilities. We will, of course, credit the photographer (you!) alongside the displayed artwork.

Depending on how many we receive, we may vote employ a vote on social media or from our Pivotal staff to pick favorites!

If the snow, dark days, and cabin fever have you feeling more drained, unmotivated, or down than usual—you’re not alone. 👉 Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a real form of depression that can show up during the colder months, especially when sunlight is limited. It can look like:
• Low energy or fatigue
• Feeling “blah,” sad, or irritable
• Sleeping more (but still feeling tired)
• Changes in appetite/cravings
• Pulling away from friends, family, or routines
• Trouble focusing or staying motivated

🌤️ The good news: support helps—and you don’t have to push through it alone. If winter has been hitting harder than expected, call us today to schedule an appointment at 269-467-1000!
