This morning the Symphonic Band traveled to Kent County High School to participate in the Maryland District V Band Festival. The ensemble gave a fantastic performance on stage and earned a unanimous rating of "Excellent" before heading off to the Sight-Reading Room. In our Sight-Reading Assessment, the kids were very attentive and completed all of the pre-performance steps very well, before finishing with a great performance of that piece. As a result they earned a rating of "Superior". So that resulted in an overall rating of "Excellent".

As a part of our Music In Our Schools Month celebration this month, we are participating for our second year in the Sousa's March Mania. We had our first gathering after school today and took a listen to the two sets of head to head competitors. The votes were cast and now we wait to see who the winners are when we gather again tomorrow to take a list to the next set of match ups and vote once again.
